Did it look like to you that they "reduced" the Gainax Effect with Misato??

Never mind all the other edits they did like the beer and Eva 01 going Bezerk, and Misato joking about making moves on Shinji or her "bathing Suit" in a BATH?!!!

Well, ANN is tracking it so ...

Well, I'm assuming you're talking about the Giant Robot marathon on CN. I didn't watch it. What was the point. I heard they were going to remove all religious references...

What the hell is up with that? How can you show NGE without ANY religious references. Anyhow, since they weren't showing the series in it's entirety I didn't care how the butchered it, as long as they showed the really cool parts and drew a larger audience to the field of Metaphysical anime.

It's completely impossible to remove religious references from Eva. You could rename Angels, but the Evas are modeled after Barons of Hell... have fun removing that one, twits.

Actually, in spite of the removal of alcohol, some of the berserk scenes and some of the fanservice, the religious references remained untouched (they were still called Angels, and there were still cross-shaped explosions...not much, but it's only the first two eps they're showing, that's about it)
