well this is a good subject. i enjoy reading incredibly i just don't seem to have so much time for it anymore, but anyways. hmmm let's start with:
The Hobbit - this is where it all started i just really liked the way Bilbo was thrown into this great adventure prompting the trilogy to follow.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy - again those semi-loveable hobbits, only now with an impending darkness and how everyone though not really wishing to, forced into an alliance at first and then all turning into great friendships.
Magic Kingdom for Sale - i just thought that this was really great how a guy got a second chance after his wife died to be happy, and in such a magical way. it was just a great series of books.
Dragon Lance - i guess i'm just a bit of a sucker for these types of magical olden time fight the darkness types of books, so sue me.
Lions Game - a story featuring two sides, the terrorist, and the anti-terrorist. a wonderfully smart ass main character and a badass "villain" sorta like anime.
Potshot - another smart ass protagonist with a bunch of smart ass friends taking on a bunch of wanna be badass gangster types. i just really liked the characters in this one.
100th Kill - more smart asses, an emotionally dead sniper, and betrayal abound, not to mention some ok romance in it i guess.
A Wrinkle in Time - read it now if you haven't, kinda trippy from what i remember but that's what i'm into.
My Side of the Mountain - this is kinda different from the rest, no really smart ass characters, no badass villains. i guess i just liked the fact that the kid was able to get along so well on his own in the wilderness.
Black Hawk Down - if you've seen the movie, multiply the detail by about a hundred and you've got the book.
Murder of Honor - a nice twisty mystery showing, nobody is as innocent as they seem.
A-Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers (it may seem odd but that does not excuse the fact that it's an interesting read)- like i said it's an interesting read, and if you have the book already, don't you just think the calendar on page 39 is the best?
Cyrano De Bergerac - so what if it's french, i say to hell with romeo and juliet this is my favorite love story.
Lord of the Flies - crazy kids who begin acting like savages, what's not to love.
The Seventh Son - unfortunately i haven't gotten to read the books after the first yet but i deffinately will. i mean i wanna see more of the mysterious powers that come with being the seventh son of a seventh son.
Kill the Shogun - a cool 17th century samurai book, this is actually the third in a trilogy, but they're also stand alone so that makes it ok. badass main character just like in so many samurai films like Zatoichi or Yojimbo. if you're into the whole striding samurai in search of something pick it up.
the Robotech saga - i always loved the anime, and i actually used to play the game. great characters, cool battles, and it spans so much time you may have to reread one of the dozens of books there are just to remember what the hell is going on.
that's all i can think of for now, hope you check some out, i'll come up with more if i can later. by the way has anyone read the vampire Lestat or other Anne Rice novels? i have a bit of a thing about vampires so i wanted to know if they're good. well, Sayonara.
Fighting weak oponents leaves me feeling so empty inside.
