That's quite a lovely rant, you make some very good points, however, one think I'd try to stay away from in the future, if you want your views to be accepted as valid by most people, is not to hate on fans. Granted some fans can really suck some big........ A friend and I encountered a fan hater once, and it errupted into something far beyond what it should have. It added fuel to fires that eventually became physical. Not to down on ya, or tell ya how to do things, or live your life. I just got a wierd feeling of... I dunno... ARGH!! Can't... explain... what... mean... ARGH!!!... doing it... again... STOP!!! The voices, the voices!!

Very good point. I have to laugh since I shamelessly admit to being part of the "Moon War" (the infamous anti-/anti-anti Sailormoon site battle) back when I didn't know any better, and creating an "In Defense of the Fans of Sailor Moon" page (which doesn't exist anymore).

The only fans I have a problem with are the psychotic ones who take "cult classic" to new heights. I don't hate the run of the mill SM fans who can actually take a freaking joke and laugh at the show's shortcomings. The ones I can't stand are the crazies who are worse than Bible-thumpers when you tell them you can't stand Sailormoon. I don't think anyone's stupid for liking a certain show, everyone's got their own opinion. I think they're pathetic when they devote their entire lives to it.

But you bring up a very good point indeed. Though there are some fans (of any series, not jus Sailormoon) who really need the ass-kicking.

I must say that your rant was wonderful. I must admit that I did watch
SM [or S&M by your description] back when I was about 10 and it aired
alongside Samurai Pizza Cats and Dragon Ball on some kids cable
channel. I watched because there really was nothing else to do and I
guess I figured some of the monsters were cool. But it was years later
that I became Otaku and came to love all that is great anime [NGE, GITS,
CB etc]. And I sure as hell did see the "Moonies" with all the stickers and
such, but I just figured it was the natural female equivalent of my friends
that were succumbing to the evils of Dragon Ball and stayed the hell
away from them [the moonies that is]. The anime fans that I feel need
a swift kick in the ass are the NGE Rei fetishists. I mean I love NGE, but
the whole super sexualizing of Rei just makes my skin crawl. And I just
don't understand why they love Rei so much anyway. But I can smell
trouble brewing. The Rei fans are probably surrounding my house right
now. I can only pray that Klinky will save me. God bless Misato!

Yeah, I've met some of those fans that just SCREAMED "Kick my ass now, please!!!" Those that get really defensive if you say anything, even jokingly. I mean, everyone needs to be able to take a joke (hehehe... speaking of... here's one about anime in general... it's freakin' hilarious). As far as Rei, goes... You're right, sexualizing Rei is a bad idea. Granted, she was kinda hot, in that... I'm lost in this world, someone save me... type of way, she's 14 years old!!! to take it further than that is just wrong... DAMN... If only Asuka were older, and Misato weren't such a slob, and Maya not such a weak character... I've figured it out

Yeah... I loathe Evangelion. I don't know why, I have watched it beginning to end, several times, but I still don't like it. I'm starting to get the same way with CB, and once again, I don't understand why.

Blue seed.....something irks me when i watch it....again no sensible reason...i just don't like it..

After I saw Evengelion, my soul was shattered and empty for about a month... Hell, I'm still picking up the pieces. I liked it and all, but man... It's gonna be one that's hard to go back and watch again... Which I've already tried and can't force myself to do it.

lol seems like once again evengelion has become the main subject, mostly i hated the last couple epsidoes the first couple up to around 10 were pretty nice the rest was just shinji being a jackass...blue seed was kinda strange as well still there were same damn funny epsiodes on taht series as for x the movie...IT KICKED ASS it's cool how they got good to fight evil for our entertainment
