After 13 years of waiting....

Post by BishounenStalker » Tue Feb 11, 2003 4:34 pm

It's finally happening! Indiana Jones IV will become a reality! The details are sketchy at best right now, but Spielberg has a story together, and the script is in the works. The movie is projected to start shooting this summer, and hopefully be out by 2005. There aren't any specific plot details yet about this latest installment, only rumors that it will be set amply after Last Crusade so that Harrison Ford will be the right age to play Indy (which he's doing).

For more news, rumors, and such, try http://www.theraider.net They have articles, rumored scripts for IJ4, plus a list of deleted scenes from Last Crusade among many other features. Happy browsing![/i]

Oh, god... Spielburg is stretching...

The special effects should be kick-ass, at least.

I wouldn't really want them to be kick ass, I hope they can make them as realistic as possible.

And I think he could pull it off as an older Indiana Jones. Just like when Sean Connery played his father.

No offense but Indy IV rumours have been going about for a LONG time. I think it's been going on for at least four years. Thing is Harrison is rather old now and rather busy with other projects to be the action hero he used to be. Spielburg is also busy and I don't think this movie will be happening anytime soon, if at all.

I think back in 99 people and magazinese were tossing around rumours of either Atlantis or Excalibur.

BTW: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Atlantis game kicked ass.

Yeah, the rumors were going around, but now there's some official confirmation of them straight from Spielberg himself. And in truth, Ford hasn't been THAT busy. Right now the only movie he's actually filming is "Hollywood Homicide" according to IMDB. There's nothing there about IJ4, but it doesn't mean much considering Spielberg hasn't got a script yet. But at least now we've got some tangible info to work with.

It's been freaking long enough! I'm not expecting a 2005 release. I think a lot of people are because they'd like to see a 15th anniversary thing going. But it just doesn't happen that way. Not when you're less than 2 years away and the script is just being written. Hell, I'm expecting more of a 2008 or later. But at least we know it WILL happen.

no offense to Harrison (he kicks ass) but hes lookin a little old and tired now, like he could fall apart at any given second, but he manages to hold it together. But it'd be interestin to see if he could play Indy again.

One of the more popular rumors is that IV is going to be about the Lost City of Atlantis. Which would be horrible cause Indy isn't a damn marinebiologist, he's an archiologist.
btw if they add a ton of CG stuff then it will really be crap.

Actually one of the biggest rumors I heard was that he's looking for Excalibur. Which would fit beautifully considering the last movie:

"You mean the Arthur legend. I've heard this bedtime story before."

But until we get something from Spielberg, it's up in the air.
