Saying sayounara to Japan

Post by Ashton » Wed Jan 15, 2003 5:43 am

Today is my last full day in Japan. Tomarow, at about 6 PM Japan time I will depart from Narita Airport, bound for Vancuever (sp?) and then from there I will catch my connection back to San Fransisco in sunny California. So tonight I say goodbye to Japan, and to all of my friends. Its been a lot of fun, but all good things must come to an end.
This also means that I will be taking a day or two off from the org because between the transportation time to the airport, the time at the airport, the time to get home, and then the excessive hours of sleep to try to correct my Jet lag will probably be in ups of 30-40 hours. Not to mention that I will be spending a lot of time today and tomarow with my host family, and then time with my friends in family in America when I return.
The plane trips gonna be a 9 hour bitch from here to Canada, but I have my MP3 CD player and tons of CDs. Im also toting along manga (all my Pita Ten, what a cute series ^_^)
So as of tomarow afternoon my life starts to resume as normal back in boring old North America. -_- Im very sad to see this period in my life end, but Im also very happy to be returning to my friends, many of whom have changed a great deal Im sure. I just hope that nobody changed more than I have, because I know the me that is leaving Japan now has a different outlook on life than the me that came to this country.
All things said and done, I wouldnt change a thing, no regrets, but all the same, I do want to come back. If anything I will come back with a greater sense that this world of ours isnt as big as our minds sometimes make it. I sincerely hope that anyone who wants to do something like this take the oportunity, because you can only be a high school student once.
That all said, Ill say goodnight for now. Ill see you all one the flipside. 8)

Well, we're all glad you enjoyed your time in Japan. Feels like you've been there forever, in my mind that is. Hope you have a safe trip.

Oh ya, and hope you enjoy your short visit to Vancouver. ^_^

I guess more the more appropriate thing to say is Welcome back sukka! (By the time you read this anyway.)
