I often get a little weepy while making emotional AMVs, but this one was probably the most brutal. I was just constantly sniffling all the time as I was putting it together. It was almost a relief when I showed it to my wife and she started crying as well - I dunno if I could have taken an "eh, it's ok" from her after putting so much of myself into it.

Death Stranding came out in late 2019, but it really feels like the game that best sums up 2020. The theme song by CHVRCHES is, in my opinion, by far their best song and it nails the themes of the games extremely well. As we drift further and further apart from each other, we need songs like these more than ever. I did my best to do it justice, and am very happy with how it turned out. I think it's my best AMV so far.

I think the biggest thing that gets rekt by youtube compression is the whale scene at 2:26. Everything else made it out mostly ok.

Yeah cause I'm worried that Youtube might not be doing this video justice.

Yeah I liked it. Couple of parts are jarring a bit because camera motion isn't following perfectly but you were doing your best to pick the best scenes you felt fit and I think that shows in this vid.

Great, glad you liked it. Agree on some of the jarring scenes - kind of wish youtube let you silently upload new versions of videos. Might be worth remaking the video later with some tweaks, but for now I'm still pretty happy with it.

I usually show it to some friends and make changes on feedback, but yeah maybe I should hold off on publishing for a couple days. I'm usually just so excited to share that I get ahead of myself, haha.

Then again, I also sometimes have a problem with over-optimizing. Sometimes it feels like if you fix 4 problems, there will suddenly be a 5th problem to solve. And being a perfectionist can just totally wear you out as you begin to squash increasingly tiny bugs.

It's a weird balance and I haven't really figured it out yet.
