Not every scene needs to be a literal illustration of a song's lyrics, but there has got to be some connection, some sense that what you're seeing on the screen is a reflection of the words that your ears are hearing and your mind is processing.
This sounds like a Bloodhound Gang song about lusting after some hot girl, but the video is a nonstop compilation of action scenes from different anime. Sure, there are hot girls in this video but they're not really the subject or object of the scenes here more than any of the guys, or the car chases, or the helicopters firing rockets, etc. There's several layers of narrative here and they feel very disconnected from one another.
Action editing is competent, very good actually. If nothing else, I enjoyed it a lot more than this one with the same song that's got over seven million views.
Would be interesting to see what you could do with a more focused concept, maybe an instrumental song that wouldn't force you to follow lyrics at all, or a song that's more personally meaningful to you that you strongly associate with a single anime that you really love.
