Naruto is an anime series that was originally aired in a "fullscreen" 4:3 aspect ratio. In this AMV, it is presented in 16:9 "widescreen" aspect ratio, the aspect ratio that is most common today but actually distorts the image by stretching it out horizontally.

The visual effect of that on the viewer is kind of like looking at this picture:

Overall, there was a good sense of sync between the scenes and the music, as the pace of the action matched the tempo of the song pretty well. I'm sure there was editing applied to these scenes to time certain cuts and other action in the scenes to the music, but overall this kind of just felt like watching two separate scenes playing out almost completely uncut. Could you recall any scenes in other episodes that might have worked with this music? Could you envision any other way to arrange the scenes to build up a sense of surprise or anticipation, one that ebbs and flows according to the shape of the song?
