Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Hi everybody~ Here's my new video - a tribute to The Count of Monte Cristo (the book, the anime and the character himself) as well as to Saint-Saëns' brilliant music. Wanted to make an AMV with this anime for quite a long time, so finally, here it is :3

Due to music copyright reasons (duh) YouTube blocked the video in some countries, so if you are unable to watch it, you can watch/download on AMV News page ^^

Hope you like it~ ✨

This was well-sync'ed, felt consistently tight and self-assured, rides those psychedelic Madoka visuals for all they're worth and then some.

Category is drama and character profile, but I don't really follow what's happening here. Then again, I haven't seen this anime (not Madoka, the other source) or read the book (I'm completely illiterate, I give dictation to my secretary in order to board here), so maybe that would clue in me in some?

Maybe it's only a handful of videos over the past few weeks/months but I hope that this renaissance of classical music in AMVs keeps up.

Thanks a lot for your feedback ^^
Regarding the genre, I noticed that I often find it very hard to perfectly fit my videos into any specific category, so I just note all the genres that I think can be somehow traced in the video. I believe you are right, here the drama is more connected to the book/anime, even though I still think there are several clues that can guide the [unaware] viewers and let them interpret the rest themselves. Usually, I don't really like illustrating the initial plot of an anime in an AMV, but in this case, a mysterious alignment of celestial bodies apparently influenced my decisions

Anyways, I hope this makes sense. And I really recommend you read the novel and/or watch the anime. Both are amazing ~
