Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Welcome to the Org! The rules of announcing videos here actually do require you to catalog your video first. So please do that as soon as possible :D . If you don't know how, here is the FAQ post about it http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 2#p1546652

Until then, I'm going to move your thread to the General Discussion Forum.

Awesome! I just moved your thread back :awesome:

Congrats on making your first AMV! You did a pretty good job at picking a song/ anime combo and capturing the mood. Naruto definitely isn't the first anime that I would have thought up for this song, but it worked surprisingly well. I also like how you made a effort to express both the sentimental and action elements of the song. This often gets lost on new editors, and so its nice to see someone doing it in their very first video  . You probably should have titled your video something more relevant than "My first AMV" though.

One tip that I'll give you is to stray away from clips that have lip flap/ moving lips in them unless you're tying to do lip sync. Just having someone randomly talking in a scene is often distracting. Also, check out this really good guide by godix. I think that its something that all new editors should read over a few times http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... =2&t=92942

hmm, extremely well planned. If anything were to be noticed it would be
to make sure your editor recognizes 4x3 vs Plasma vs HDTV sizes when encoding.

there ARE quite a few tricks that can help in some cases, Cropping 4x3 to HDTV is not one of them - sadly!
( actually, most people would not have noticed your stretching the 4x3 scenes to fit the HD Screen if I
hadn't been one of the editors for Naruto's First half of Season one ... sorry, but ... I noticed it :p )

yes, there are 3 video sizes out there: don't be shy if the screen doesn't match right now, your doing fine ^__^
4/5 - nice job and THx
