Noragami-The story is just beginning

Post by Chromax » Sat Aug 08, 2015 6:37 am

This is my second AMV, I hope you like it. I simply love Noragami and thought the song fits in a way the situation of the characters so why not, right? ;) Any feedback is appreciated :)

[Fixed the VIDID for you - you don't have to type out all the code separately, you can just use the VIDID shortcut (here's a quick guide http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 3#p1447513 -Ileia]

I liked how it was building up and it had some good pacing but when the chorus broke out you kind of just cut up a single fight scene and let the animation do the work for you. Be careful about relying too much on the source itself because even though you used an action scene it still felt very slow since the scenes just kind of went in order with minimal cutting to make it sync properly.

As second videos go it's not too bad though. Don't be afraid to spend a bit more time than a couple days on videos (I used to be proud of being a speed demon when I first started too :p) and try checking into well known and respected videos/editors to see how they do it. You don't need to copy them persay, but seeing what is out there can sometimes help you discover your own style and groove.

Ps. Here is a tutorial I made to upload videos to the Org.

Thanks for your feedback. To be honest, I truly find myself in a difficult position when editing at the chorus(or whenever the song gets more intense). I always visualize in my head how it's supposed to be done, but when the time comes for actually editing that part I find out that the portion of the song is too short for me to implement my ideas, so just a few moments from one battle are placed. Also, I know it may sound strange, but when I edited the AMV I thought that some people may be confused or think the AMV is crappy if I would put clips from different moments of the anime one after another during the fighting part(when the chorus came in).
