Oh wow, that song might've been a bit too much for you.
Even a highly skilled veteran editor would have a hard time doing an AMV to this one.
I can see that the combo could work, but you need to do a lot of fast cutting for it. You are going for the (in my opinion) right approach though - you want to start with the basics and work your way up to effects and stuff. Many editors nowadays completely ignore the basic cut and don't have the ideas and that turn an AMV into a piece of art.
Also: 1:54 - ghost frame, lel

The source and anime combo is a good idea (considering lyrics will be beneficial); however, you do not follow lyrics for a majority of the video (i.e.; "feel alive and shatter me" could represent the girls' contract with The Incubators) so purpose of the chorus is nil for the entire video, thus throwing off my enjoyment. Also, 2:58 - 3:25 should really be faster, incorporate more scene selection around this area specifically because your clips are no longer matching the tempo of the music.
