Hi everyone, the Animazement AMV contest is currently accepting submissions. The deadline is MAY 1ST.
Prizes will be AMAZON GIFT CARDS. You do not need to be present to win. We can email or mail out the cards to you. So please make sure your contact info is correct.

We've got a new crew running the show and we'll be updating this thread with information regarding the finalists and winners of the contest as quickly as we can in order to keep everyone up to date.
We know there were some communication and technical issues last year due to some unforeseen circumstances so we're doing our best to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Just a quick question, are Trailer and Parody meshed, or separate categories?

They really don't have categories, they tend to assign them if they get enough for the traditional ones, but it's entirely judge picked (both categories and the winners). Several of the past years they have failed to post the winners at all, or send out promised prizes, so keep that in mind when submitting. They also say every year they have "new staff running it"...I'm not sure if it's a lie or they just have a talent for picking the worst organizers...

Yes, categories in the past have been dependent on what types of entries are received. If there are a lot of trailers then they will have their own category. Otherwise they will likely be meshed with Parody or put into whichever other main category they would fit best under (Action, Drama, Romance, or Comedy).

l33tmeatwad, I'm sorry you have such a poor impression but as far as I've been informed and can see from reading past threads, winners have been posted and prizes have been sent out on time the past few years. Last year there were some major issues but all the prizes were definitely sent out and received. It was very late but they got them. As far as staff turnover, yes unfortunately it has been frequent. People have lives and this is volunteer work after all. We'll do our best to make things go smoothly this year.

Only one of the years I attended did the results get officially posted online within a month of the convention ending. I also know a few that won that have yet to this day receive anything...and 2011 and 2012 only got posted online because I was at the convention and posted the results myself...

I see, sorry for the trouble and thanks for doing that in previous years. We'll be more on top of it this time so nobody has to go out of their way.
If you know of anyone that didn't receive their prize please let us know and we'll be sure to resend it to them. Almost everyone replied to the emails though-- I think there was only one person that didn't but we still sent them their gift card code.
