Re: Blacklisted Conventions?
The other problem to with black listing is Coordinators tend to shift around so banning a con is kinda silly.

There's no blacklist per-se, but most AMV vets know each other closely and "talk" all the time outside the forums. If you're ever at a con gathering with other AMV creators (and btw, noobs are *very* welcomed to them) you'll often hear grumblings about how so-and-so refuses to send to [insert con here] because of some issue or whatnot. Since there's so many events, many creators listen to each other about what events to enter or not to enter. That works the other way, too. A con that builds a reputation for good professionalism, a quality presentation, and good attention to detail gets noticed as well.flamefield wrote:Hi everyone!
I'm new here and I was just wondering what are the blacklisted anime conventions for AMV editors?
A con that has weird rules, treats the videos poorly or exhibits them poorly, doesn't communicate well, or just has a bad vibe will often be whispered about. It's rare you'll see a con publicly called out on the forums unless they *really* screwed up.

Re: Blacklisted Conventions?
I know I am guilty for weird rules and lack of good communication and I can say that because of that some people have chosen not to send in a submission a) ever again (not entirely my fault) or b) until I improve (which I intend to). Everyone has reasons for what they do and why they do it. However I think there should be a caution list for major things. Also I think some people if they have issues with coordinators (especially other coordinators) they should let them know. (I like being told I've messed up *hint* *hint*) Last but not least I'd say if you ever have a problem with a coordinator let em know honestly and politely. (well i'd at least want that I cannot speak for everyone else.)XStylus wrote: A con that has weird rules, treats the videos poorly or exhibits them poorly, doesn't communicate well, or just has a bad vibe will often be whispered about. I know for me, I always welcome any comments or criticism as long as it is constructive. This is how you get better not only as a coordinator but as a person.
