Good, so I gather I'm not the only one who hasn't gotten the DVD yet. Maybe it's cuz I waited till December to order it. I just hope they got my payment. :( Well, I guess it still seems as though a few of us have yet to receive the disc.

I ordered mine in November, and received it the day after X-mas.

I feel kinda bad in saying some negative stuff, since this post has been so positive so far, but I had a lot of problems with my DVD. Hopefully you guys won't have the same.

First off, the DVD was shipped in a regular DVD case. Just wrapped in shrink wrap with a label and stamps stuck on one side. So it was no surprise when I picked it up and found that the disk was free floating inside since one of the little clips had broken. Fortunately, my disk was only slightly scratched, but it still sucked.

Secondly, the encoding looks terrible. Lots of artifacting, and several videos look kind of jittery. Some look better than others, so I don't know how much of it is the original's fault, and how much of it is the encoding, but... I'm pretty sure that the videos suffered from the process.

Thirdly, I had lots of problems on one of my DVD players. The audio and video kept sliding out of synch, and the video would freeze up from time to time. Fortunately this only happened on one of my DVD players, and it seemed synched well enough on all the others, but it's still annoying. I haven't had any other problems with that machine.

Finally, several other creators on the project have complained that their videos appear to be somewhat out of synch. I can only vouch for my own, which seemed fine, but some of the others did seem to have strange timing now and then.

However, the content is simply amazing. I remeber listening to the CD and thinking, "These songs totally suck. I can't imagine anything good coming out of this..." but I was utterly amazed. I really disliked the songs that William and Eric had, but the videos are awesome. I honestly think that this project is even better than the first, and everyone who worked hard on it should be proud.

I'm really psyched to see what everyone comes up with for the next one!!!

That great Scott, I have yet to get mine. (With Canada Post and custons, I'll probably get it in February in several pieces)

There have been a few individuals that have reviewd the disc and though it sucked! I guess everyone is entitled to thier opinions so I'm not really that upset by that. I have heard about the sync problems though and I'm not sure what the cause of that is. I personally saw the project on the time line and spend some time with Brad in doing a few thing to it and it seemed to be fine!

Not withstanding the issues, I hope peaple have fun watching this project since that's what it's there for in the first place....

Got my copy today! Woo... hey I'm quite happy with it! I love the content, of course, a lot of great work was in there... and come on, Rejected was in there. Ultimate props from me.

Seriously, though, I did notice the encode was not the best... sure better than anything I could do, though, so no complaints from me. I also noticed the mis-sync in some parts, so I find it strange that my own project synced so much better than the DV copy master sitting on my HD!

The packaging... well, ok, I'm a graphic designer so I could go on and on about how terrible this packaging was done. I mean, you're telling me I paid more than I should for a piece of paper with terribly matted dancing figures repeated constantly over the DVD menu? Folks... please, if there is anything you should learn from con brochures and DVD packaging, sometimes logos and a concept work better than just fan art on a Photoshop-filtered background. *sigh* Ok ok, I realize they did this for *free* (better have done it for free...) but I'm gonna make my own DVD cover for this, no question, cuz I'm a graphic designer... and an asshole. :P

I wonder why Scott's copy came in all damaged. Mine was sent out twice (once with no city and state on it... DUH) and delivered to the worst post office in NYC and yet everything look fine on the inside. Maybe a buff or two on the DVD. I expected that.

I'm upset there's no footage from the events themselves! What happened? How come no DV footage of the event? This DVD isn't legal in the first place so it's not like showing people's faces will really stir up disputes :P

Otherwise, awesome DVD contents, glad I was a part of the project.
Sata andagi!

They're late in updating their order form, but check out this page:

gambitt: I'd be interested in seeing your cover when you're done.
