Look at how good a video this simple can be if you simply don't mess up somewhere. Such a warm video.

Thank you for your input! 501/5 criticTaite wrote:Holy shit I love this, totally up my alley.
I just get into those glows and flashes and borders like no other, it's so friggin pretty yet it's not overpowering it's so subtle and you're like omg i want more. And the soft little black fades n shit, love it.
I could just list all the parts I love like when it first picks up how perfect the scene selection is or that ending segment with the little flares, or every time those borders popped up etcetc, but seriously the whole thing is just![]()
I'm actually watching this via yt but the clips just look look saturated and soft and weirdly better than how they normally do. Sweet
Only things are 1:52, think it could have used a flash or something there. Also, thought it was weird you had the Studio Ghibli thing at the end when Hoshi o Ou Kodomo is Shinkai? It felt out of place in that sense, the animation totally fits and it's funny how he copied Miyazaki's character style, but ya, just not Ghibli.
500/5
That "saturated and soft" thing is scene-by-scene color correction. I applied a glow and bumped up the saturation and contrast, and messed around with that.
I didn't wanna overdo the flashing, so I kept myself from placing more flashes on the cymbal hits. Since that one cuts from black, I thought it was enough, but d:
I've gotten more than a few mentions about Hoshi wo ou Kodomo being not Ghibli (the Ghibli logo at the end was there because of that "Creating Something Beautiful" thing I mentioned, and I wanted to give Totoro a Santa hat); I had that there because I wanted that character to be the one dreaming. Sounds a bit corny now that I put it into words, but Shinkai's animation looks so realistic that I thought Hoshi wo ou Kodomo, which has a combination of Shinkai's realistic landscapes and Miyazaki's character design, would be a perfect fit. So, yep, she goes to sleep in her "real" world and dreams up the magic that's Ghibli.
CritiCIIIIIIIZE me. (Thank you though!)MentalTsui wrote:Loved it. It's simple and has a positive feel. It would be difficult to be taken seriously enough to provide a legit criticism for me. Lovely job there, Adrian!

After editing more complex stuff, I felt like making something more laid-back. It was the first time I try multi-anime like this though, so that wasn't way too simple at first, haha. There's a good chance that watching this video before going to bed has become a ritual.
I now consider this one of the greatest AMVs I've seen. Thank you man.
