Post by MycathatesyouAMV » Sun Dec 29, 2013 4:44 pm

(Special permission from Yue to have two announcement threads since its the end of the year and I needed to release this shit.)

This is my slightly touched-up version of my video I made for AWA Pro this year. Comments and critique appreciated.

was wondering when you were gonna post this. nice video mchy, probably my favorite from you

as for critique, the local download seems to have a glitch at like :06/:07. i tried playback on two different media players but i'm not sure if my download was just somehow corrupted. the pans were generally smooth but at times they were too blunt and jumpy imo. i also think the blurs were a bit strong at certain areas which obscured the scenes and made it hard to make out what was going on. and this is just personal taste/nitpicking but i think brightness/contrast might have been a nicer choice to achieve the glow at ~:49. anyway, this was a really enjoyable video and i feel like you experimented with it. overall you did a great job and i'm looking forward to seeing future releases from you :shark:

I can see why this won best action at AWA! Great scene choices and the rhythm works well through the entire AMV.

Not sure what you meant on the blurs, but glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the detailed comment. And yes there is an artifact I didn't notice that I'll have to attempt to fix.

Some of it was a little too chaotic for my taste, but overall I liked it.

This video shows the amount your improved this year and had a lot of good technicals and you achieved a level of intensity to keep the viewer on edge. I really liked the concept because the audio and video sources really worked well together. With that said, the intensity was a bit too high for too long. The usage of clips of the main character in constant battle was a bit unsettling after a while and very tiring to watch. The amount of similarities in clips used, especially the overuse of very close clips of the character screaming, left it feeling like déjà vu at times. Definitely a good base for an action video, but the overall pacing and easing off the throttle some could help this video immensely.
