Congrats to all the winners. I didn't make it this year, but oh well I'll try again ^_^. As for you Kazemon Please don't give up I LOVE YOUR AMVS! You were one of the first editors I met when I was first starting out. I aspired to get as good a you!. You are a constant inspiration. Seriously after watching your amvs over the course of time I was always trying to get to where you were. Even today I feel you're beyond me in skill. It was thanks to you and my friends that I started applying for the AX amv contest. Also remember people edit differently and have different tastes. But your videos have a little heart and soul thrown in. You can just feel it. Thats what sets yours apart and why iIcant stop loving you're work.
I'm sad your videos didn't make it but just because its not on a big screen doesn't mean its not a great piece of art, which your work always is ^_^ Continue to strive and I can't wait for the day i see you amv on the big screen ^_^.

Don't feel too bad if you don't get in. I tried for over 10 years to get into expo. it wasn't until 2009, To put the number of years into perspective when i started submitting to Expo Clinton was in the white house and when i finally got in Obama was president. It may take a long time.

Ironic, cuz I feel that you surpassed me. Especially with your Uninvited AMV. Besides, you're the big winner from last year, which is something all my friends achieved except me...neko kitkat wrote:Congrats to all the winners. There's just too much going on in my life to worry about AX's deadline. Since it's right there before finals, I try to hurry and finish an AMV and then try to pass my finals, which isn't always the case. So it feels kinda unrewarding to me to do so much work to make the AMV on the contest deadline and waste time when I could have been studying and then not pass and not even get in in the end. So....yeah. Seems selfish, I know, but that's how I feel. For me, it just isn't worth it. I want to take my time instead of worrying about deadlines. I might make Otakon my con to send to from now on considering their later deadline.

Soooo... if I were to move next year's deadline to mid April as I'm presently planning, that would be bad? ^^;;;Kazemon15 wrote:There's just too much going on in my life to worry about AX's deadline. A slight advantage Otakon has is its later deadline, since that allow those who have finals to not have to stress about two things simultaneously. Not much I can do about that unfortunately, unless AX wants to move the con itself to a later date.

That would make it even more less likely of me entering... though, I'm not sure about everyone else....
But I guess, earlier deadline, earlier results, huh?

Well it's more of a matter of the workload on my end. I work two jobs, plus I'm doing all the prep work for this event and AMV Chef. And there's a lot to juggle. I knew that from the outset, but with how I've been trying to expand, revamp, and change things, it's herculean. And I've only scratched the surface of things I want to change. I've been averaging three hours sleep a night for the past month since May, if that gives you any idea. Last night I fell asleep at the computer desk as my PC was rendering away...Kazemon15 wrote:But I guess, earlier deadline, earlier results, huh?xstylus wrote: Soooo... if I were to move next year's deadline to mid April as I'm presently planning, that would be bad?
But I'm having fun. But it don't mean squat unless you guys have fun too.
