No worries, there are probably more who haven't noticed and welcome. Enjoy browsing and hey, by all means, just keep doing Utena to the point that everyone knows that's your schtick and at some time in the future, just whip out something different, like i'unno, Shigurui and have everyone flip their freaking lids.shati wrote:Apparently it was 2004 when I joined the org, and I've basically just recently noticed there are...forums...
Hi. I'm Shati. I'm female, apparently not too bright, and home sick so I'm bored as shit right now. I have grandiose ambitions to someday finish an amv that isn't Utena. Someday.

Mister why do you say such things? You passed our evaluations in the AKROSS, and it was surprising to see your entry getting into the finals of the last Con. By the way, I guess you have already met me before since you have attended AKROSS Con and I'm active there
Well, getting into the finals wasn't that much of irony. Getting 26th place in the finals WAS A TOTAL IRONY. :'D It was a surprising transition from 2010 because I didn't make it to the finals back then, still, it's relieving to find people from AKROSS disagreeing with me about being a total noob. :'D

Re: Welcome to the org, introduce yourself
I just realized that i've been registered on here for nearly 4 years and i never introduced myself....Well here goes nothing...Hey! My name ia Nasif Basher, but you can call me Drag since thats much easier to say and be remembered by (i actually prefer it too). Ive been editing for probably nearly 3 and a half years now and i still havent managed to get anywhere but i did meet some cool people like the beautiful Gotegenks :3. Oh yea i havent made a full in probably 2-3 ears now so that says alot about what i edit...I hope to become a pretty active participant on these forums

If someone else asked about what the AFB means.
And nop, the reason why we all the critics reacts with the foreign authors, is because at first we have a first view of the video, and during the next weeks we suddenly start to change the original impression. Normally the feedback posted is at the moment we first watched the video. But for the finals the topic goes different.
In the AKROSS the word noob is not used in the way it should be since we tend to go to other aspects

Hmmm, I see..I sorta though that by total noob means you stop editing and go kill yourself because you terribly suck. Do you have an aspect that goes along with this extent? :'D
Damn, I'm spamming this thread. D:

Re: Welcome to the org, introduce yourself
Hmm, We can say that a noob is the author that even after the 5th view (If we ever reach that one
) the critics don't get what the amv is about. You might have noticed videos of this style during the first days the competition starts, and then the contest starts to get better in the middle.
Like Spidey says in the rules: We really appreciate the creative component. A video that brings a new concept to the anime, as a crossover, alternate story or just simply new effects are normally the videos that goes to the finals, though even a video that has the review ability has high chances to go.
Normally I cohelp the event as betatester looking that the video has all the technical requirements for the contest or as a critic, and always have to take care of the newcomers since they tend to start uploading the videos before time, or help them when they don't know about the AMVSimple or using the FTP site.
Keep in mind the feedback we all the critics leave in the forum thread. Specially EvilSpider himself since he's the head of the association
And yeah we're spamming the thread. Newcomers don't be shy and keep posting
