The very first Evangelion 3.0 AMV!

Post by kapparomeo » Wed Aug 31, 2011 5:50 pm

Well, I'm being a little generous with that definition. There are no tantalising leaks from the secret workprint of Rebuild 3.0 I'm afraid... I've just ripped the recent announcement short and filched some of the quick-cut clips that ran after the credits of 2.0. It made you click though, didn't it? ;)

Image

Video: (S)he's a Pirate! (a-m-v.org Preview) (YouTube stream)
Category: Character Profile, Instrumental, Action
Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion; End of Evangelion; Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11, 2.22, 3.0
Song: He's a Pirate / Jack Sparrow
Artist: Pirates of the Caribbean (Klaus Baudet / Hans Zimmer)
Creator: kapparomeo

It's been several months since I lasted posted a video here on a-m-v.org (or updated my various multi-user projects  ), and for that I have to apologise. I don't want to be a melodramatic drama queen about things, but in all honesty I have to say that, however much an overreaction it may have been, having Keikaku Cat be C&D'd earlier in the year really hurt my morale and for a long while I couldn't bear coming back here. The sheer electric vitality of the recent Rebuild 3.0 announcement, however, has hotwired the creativity motor and knocked me out of my funk - I'm looking forward to getting involved with the community once more, and I hope that this action piece lets me arrive with flair and a flourish.

Please enjoy, and criticisms are always seriously considered. :)

Yes, I have to admit that it's got me quite unreasonably excited too. I've always enjoyed Eva and appreciated its concepts, but I wouldn't call myself a dedicated fan of the series who follows every spinoff and can quote scenes verbatim; still, I am genuinely intrigued to see how the upcoming Quickening will depart from the original source, and the striking announcement trailer was the flint that sparked that into an eager fire.

EVA is the first REAL anime series that I had seen and was in my first 3 being Sailor Moon, DBZ and EVA.

I do prefer the Original for nostolgic reasons, but I love the way the Movies are playing out so far. They seem to show us more rather than having to guess and assume. Altough I see the End of EVA as something to be interpreted in one's own view.

I think these movies are great and much needed to explain the plotline better.

Scintilla: "Keikaku Cat" passed under the radar here, thankfully, but the YouTube version was clobbered.

I probably could make a counter-claim under fair use - it's not for profit (I even bought Sony Vegas to edit videos, so if anything I've enriched them!), Sony Music doesn't actually own the audio, the source material is acknowledged in the credits, a parody/satire theme, and with its freqeunt cuts it doesn't replicate "the essential heart" of any scene. I understand that if no-one responds to a counter-claim in a fortnight then YouTube automatically restores the video. Still, YouTube certainly do their level best to intimidate you into keeping schtum ('question this ruling and you WILL be prosecuted') and sadly with other current real-world concerns I don't have the liberty to contest something like this if a lawyer justifying his salary chose to make an example of me - as he would, Sod's Law.

Well, I wouldn't go that far - I've no interest on going on anti-corporate bents, and I understand the importance of copyright for defending legitimate ownership 9and the livelihoods that depend on it) at all levels, and that companies must defend their property otherwise theft would be rampant. I just feel a little bit hard done by because a mere AMV isn't threatening their property.

Our PS3 died after 2 years and they wanted us to pay $250 plus shipping to repair it!

Now our Slim is having issues.
