A good premise for an AMV [especially a tribute], but it wasn't very well executed.

Visual quality was poor, had watermarks/logos, opening credits information was there and was just generally very hard to look at. The stock-effects didn't add much to the AMV and made it distracting to look at. The writing needed some overhaul and could have used a more attractive font.

But the beat sync at least had some connection to the music, and was moderately fitting with it.

The thing to improve your future AMVs is to get the best quality footage [preferably from DVDs], to not overkill on stock effects/transisions, and to perhaps invest in a better video editing software. I've seen GREAT AMVs with WMM, but it's an extremely limiting program in terms of what it will allow editors to do.

Oh, and you don't have to type all the info out:

Code: Select all

Put that in the main post without the code tags, and it puts your information out there quite easily!

I definitely got the feeling of the video, and the sync was pretty decent. Overall the editing wasn't really bad (perhaps a few better scenes might have been chosen - but I definitely got the tribute feeling), but frankly the video quality was awful, and it did take away from my overall enjoyment. I also thought the text might have taken away a bit of the flow of the video, but I suppose that's a preference thing. Also, I'd advise avoiding WMM effects altogether, they're so recognizably WMM that many people might scoff at them, and not really see your video. But you're on the right track I'd say, just don't get too cocky from youtube comments. The commentor who said "This is the best AMV I've ever seen" can't have seen too many videos.. :pizza:

Not bad at all.

Video quality sort of killed it, but I think it was pretty good :)
