A Glorious Dawn:
I like the Carl Sagan bit from Family Guy you stuck in the beginning. Very cute and fun and nice addition by adding his little bio there.
However, immediately after that, it really goes downhill.
The footage varies from nice looking to horrible looking. Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop appeared really grainy and blocky. Because for the most part, the older Macross footage looks better than some of the "more recent anime." I mean, with the Macross footage, it obviously looks dated but looks far cleaner than quite a few other sources.
And then the rest of the video is basically a collection of pictures of the universe and rockets taking off. That's about it. It felt more like watching a still image slideshow than an AMV...There is no dynamic and the video becomes incredibly boring very quickly.
You obviously had a rather large collection of anime to work with, but you didn't really do anything with it. Where are the people exploring new planets? Meeting new life? Leaving loved ones behind to venture into the new glorious dawn? Or even finding love under a new sky? Anything but space scenes and rocket ships?
The only time there is a scene change from space/rocket ships is when you found a lyric or two that didn't revolve around space. IE: Showing a brain when it talks about the brain. Showing waves from the ocean during the brief mention of "The shore," etc.... but then it abruptly jumps back to space.
I want to say the editing is solid, but it's 2 tracks of simple fades and hard cuts so it's nearly impossible to really mess that up...
Sorry, but this video is just really boring and is hard to sit through...

No Rest For the Wicked:
This one...it's better but still has it's problems. In addition to the fact that it's incredibly difficult to get Mike and Meri's video that uses the same source (that came out a full year before this) but a more interesting crossover idea out of your head while watching.
The video isn't half bad, but still a little boring with nothing more than straight cuts moving it along. But when the chorus kicks in, it gets messy real quick D: I STILL can't figure out what is being synced to during these bits.
The only obvious thing is that every time the lyric "mouths to feed" pops up, someone is stuff their face. But half the time that starts either before the lyric starts or just as it's finishing. Scenes change in the middle of short syllables with no real purpose and it becomes very unappealing to watch.
Also, why is there a random ship montage? You lose all connection to the characters and just watch ships fly around for a period of time.
So overall, the video, while better than Glorious Dawn, is still very messy and difficult to watch.
Sorry man
Good luck for next time and keep trying.
