Well, sometimes consistent/repeated gags can turn around and bite you in the rear end. You run the risk of wearing out the humor of the gag (or irking your audience out of sheer repetition all depending on how often you're repeating the gag). With the particular gag you mentioned, I really wanted it to have as much impact as possible at that part of the song.CodeZTM wrote:Drew, that was fantastic.![]()
It's about damn time somebody murdered haurhi, and you did a fantastic job both parodying dance videos, and keeping it entertaining at the same time AS a dance video. If I had any complaints, it might have been the lack of a consistent "gag" like the Haurhi cats.
Fantastic, and I highly recommend to everyone.
I'm actually a little suprised at how amused people are that I "killed" Haruhi.
This comment had me amused for quite a while. Hadn't heard that one before.EkaCoralian wrote:Man panties just everywhere, lawdy.

Well, what cons do you usually go to?Dr.Dinosaur wrote:We need to hang out.

Two years now, to be exact. Plus, you only go to one con a year anyhow. Not many opportunities there.Castor Troy wrote:I've been telling drew that for years and he can never make it out to meet us.Dr.Dinosaur wrote:You KNOW I enjoyed it.

Just saw this at AnimeNEXT, looks like you have a decent shot to win despite being in the Comedy category instead of Upbeat.
Amusing and fun, and even better for someone who gets the YTMND references.

I was wondering if anyone was going to bring up the few YTMND references scattered about. Well, the categorization seems to vary depending on coordinator; elsewhere, I've been told there's too many gags for it to be in upbeat *shrug*.Scintilla wrote:Just saw this at AnimeNEXT, looks like you have a decent shot to win despite being in the Comedy category instead of Upbeat.Amusing and fun, and even better for someone who gets the YTMND references.
