Re: The Otakon 2011 Thread
Less than a week and a half to go... my video is (pretty much) finished and it turned out to be deliciously dark and violent.
I've already turned it down a notch by replacing a scene... on retrospect, I guess showing a kid get his arm blown off by a high powered rifle wasn't so good an idea...

Perhaps, but it's certainly piqued my interest. >.> What anime are you using?irriadin wrote: on retrospect, I guess showing a kid get his arm blown off by a high powered rifle wasn't so good an idea...

Black Lagoon. What can I say, it can be a pretty violent show sometimes!kiarrens wrote:Perhaps, but it's certainly piqued my interest. >.> What anime are you using?irriadin wrote: on retrospect, I guess showing a kid get his arm blown off by a high powered rifle wasn't so good an idea...

Re: The Otakon 2011 Thread
Have you seen any entries using the newer HD CG style of anime like, "The World God Only Knows" or "Kore wa Zombie desu ka?"
Just curious.
I would love to see an AMV from this new style on the big screens at Otakon.

Pray 4 peace! Not an AMV, something you can do to help!

HD or not, I still downsample everything to 480i/p. Which I think is a little bit more honest than Funimation UPsampling everything to 1080p. Yeah, I went there.Adv1sor wrote:Have you seen any entries using the newer HD CG style of anime like, "The World God Only Knows" or "Kore wa Zombie desu ka?"

When someone invents a dedicated HD .h264 HARDWARE decoder card that also can output a true, line-matched 480i NTSC signal, I will consider running things HD native.
Bonus "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" Moment: A small portion of the Otakon 2009 contest on Friday was run off an SVHS tape because of a computer lockup. With the right equipment, nobody notices.

Re: The Otakon 2011 Thread
I think that was 2005. It's impossible for my system to even show a BSOD on screen since the only data being sent to the projector is mpeg2 data. When I crash on my end, you'd still just see black.kiarrens wrote:Wasn't 2009 the year of the blue screen of death?irriadin wrote:Wow.
