Per week? Maybe 2½ hours. And that's during a high pitch season, like this one is (currently following 7 series, with a sporadic 8th*). On an off season? Maybe an hour per week, for weekly shows.

*Freezing, Index II, Infinite Stratos, Kore wa Zombie Desu ka, Dragon Crisis, Fractale, Bleach, with the sporadic one being The World God Only Knows

As funny as it sounds, even that 2½ hours makes me feel torn in so many directions it's uncomfortable and with everything else going on I end up feeling burnt out. My computer being an artifact** does not help this at all. A good part of that discomfort is the necessity to transcode the stuff to SD or sub-SD XviD so it can actually be watched. Thankfully I have access to setups that can do those conversions in 10-15 minutes, as opposed to 2+ hours, for a 24-minute episode. And then I have a balancing act with Internet browsing, compiling software, converting stuff (AMVs, trailers, or so forth) in preparation for DVD, and so on. Most of which I am stuck with this thing for.

**The specs are listed on my profile. Prior to New Year's 2010 the graphics card and half of the RAM weren't there (and the LCD I got maybe 5? months ago, I think; before that it was a couple of CRTs, but they have individual problems that are either completely impossible to work around or are incredibly annoying).

I will admit that some of that apprehension might be due to finding some shows - that I do have all the episodes of - exceptionally taxing to watch (*cough* Durarara!! *cough*, that took me five months to get through, since this past September), which makes it seem like a chore to even watch other stuff. I tend to avoid this situation well, but sometimes recommendations from others or wanting to know what all the buzz is about gets the better of me; it doesn't always pan out. If I had a better computer setup and a far more comfortable place to sit while watching, it would likely be a much different story.

I don't watch animes too often, maybe once or twice in a month? it depends on other things though (how much I have to study and how much I want to actualy watch something) also, it's hard to watch animes, cuz e.g. if I have to study a lot then I can't watch them at the student hostel, and because I only have the weekends to edit, I would rather edit than watch animes probably. ( or I would reather read manga xD they are quite distracting :') )

I only watch Dragon Ball Kai and Naruto Shippuden. If I see an anime that looks interesting in an AMV, I'll go out and see it (like detroit metal city).

I basically don't. The only series I care about this season is Wandering Son.

I watched whatever's made available that I can keep up with, so I would say on TV at least 1-3 series (Especially if they're on demand). As for buying anime goes, if I have the money for it I'll look into box set that looks interesting to me at the time. I haven't watched streaming episodes online since I found work again.

As for newer series, there aren't a lot that interest me at this point. The last new series I checked out were HOTD and Cannan. Mostly I've been catching up with older titles.

I don't watch too much anime lately. Maybe one series in 6 months. Right now I watch way more live action movies and series. It has to do with my apprenticeship in directing and writing. I watch and analyze them. I could also watch anime for character's and their development, but in live action I get the full pack with cameras and stuff. The story is also more valuable to analyze (in my opinion) because I would like to produce for my area market and not the eastern one. Anime is just a completely different thing.

FTFY. A tangent, yes, but I want others to avoid the "sharing is destructive" propaganda.

It has been demonstrated that people will pay for copies of a work, even funding a new work, even given opportunity to share. The Blender Open Movie projects work out this way; DRM-free music stores work this way; releases from The Null Corporation work this way; the Humble Indie Bundles worked out this way, too. There's many more examples in many more fields; I will dig them up if you want them. They all have a common thread, though: even in the presence of zero barriers to copying, people still pay because they understand (or, well, enough of them understand) that people like to be rewarded.

(The amount of money required to fund production of a 13 or 26-episode anime series is obviously not the same as either of the two examples I mentioned: usually, that sort of thing needs (a lot) more money. There's also a lot more complexity involved in series production, and whether any of it can be streamlined is something I can't answer.)

The point, however, is that blaming the problem on "ease of sharing" is just projecting. The problem isn't sharing technologies.

No, the problem is that too many anime fans are stingy shitheads.

I usually just pick what looks interesting from the general anime section of the site and give it a few episodes. I rarely finish anime anymore cause they just aren't as creative as they used to be when it comes to story. This could just be from having seen so many though. Of course it would be nice if they didn't cater to otaku so much but that's for another thread.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson
