ITT.I.IC - Sons of the Forerunners

So ITT I post my IC.

Someone somehow persuaded me to IC not once but twice. I'm normally a immensely slow editor as I prefer just sitting back and tweaking masked rain. To be honest I had sworn off IC'ing simply because I'm absolutely terrible at it. But said person kicked my ass and the next thing I knew I was actually enjoying editing this.

Most people who know me know I'm pretty big on the whole Halo thing. So working with the recently released Halo Legends in anticipation for Halo Reach was a blast. Having some awesome people to IC with also helps.

Dankie Reba & Moolz

If you're expecting an extremely polished video you're shit out of luck. None the less I figured people might get a kick out of it.

i'll go ahead, be the thread idiot and ask what IC is. is it like an x hour editing marathon, x=2? either way this was fabulous! especially for having been made in 2 hours, great build up and all that

i'm not worthy for the second one though apparently :C

IC = Iron Chef ;o

Usually it's a short challenge (2 hours for example) against another editor. Don't know what the rules were for this one, but sometimes you get audio supplied, or a source supplied, etc. Maybe Niotex can elaborate for ya.

For IC's at cons there's usually a theme you're supposed to stick to and you get to pick your audio and the coordinator gives you x number of sources and then a "secret source" like a secret ingredient you're supposed to incorporate. Then some judges watch the vids made and pick the winner.

/me will grab this for later Mitch :o Good to see you editing again.

Decent! How many hours did this take?

Voice part in the 2nd half was hard to understand - making the song quieter in those sections where she is talking might have improved the final version. ALso the audio fadeout in the end over like 10 seconds in 2 or 3 steps sucks. Out of that i likes.

Glad to see you enjoyed it. And yes I know I should've done something more witht that.

Sorry it's not an "actual" video.

IC stands for Iron Chef, in this case a 2 hour editing marathon. The song was selected for me by someone else prior to me preparing the source. So I had no idea what song I'd be editing with just what video source.

As for the rest that you're not worthy of. It's there you're just not seeing it.

I'm gay for Halo this is a well known fact. Glad you enjoyed it.

This was just a straight up 3 way 2 hour IC for fun. No winners or losers just having a good time. Which ironically I do better at then when I'm in it to win.

Also I'd like to point out that I don't edit. I just sit here and complain about other people.

2 Hours. As for the voice I think I misjudged that because having heard the audio sample so often I already knew what she was saying. Probably bad judgement on my part though. The audio fade out is just a linear -48db ramp. So it shouldn't be that "steppy". That being said I should've probably done my final audio mix in soundtrack pro rather then just quick dirty linear fades.

Glad people seem to like the quick and dirty randomness that is this video. Almost makes me motivated to work on actual stuff again. As for people not being worthy of the rest, clearly you're not looking hard enough. The rest is there somewhere, just look harder.

oh i'd seen it, chrome just kept insisting on downloading it as a 0 kb file so I thought that i really was not worthy. but now that you mentioned it firefox did the trick! that was veeery short though, was that like a half hour ic? because it was surprising what you pulled in 2 hours in the first one so this one was like, wat, over already? i did feel for the science boy though
