I'm kinda surprised to see this association works haha
thanks MimS, I'll be checking out your video soon too ^^

Silk_SK wrote:Definitely the best of the three Inception trailers to come out recently. Still not perfect though. The impact still isn't quite maximized on those parts I mentioned earlier.
I did end up messing around with the parts you mentioned. For the most part, I like it the way it is.

that's the kind of stuff i like to hear. You'll always see FFVII videos from me XD. Initially this video was supposed to be just 'inception,' but after i saw how many inception videos were being released, i was like 'YAY for unoriginality' and I slapped on the 'Advent Crisis' label on it because my last FFVII trailer video, the first Advent Crisis, was pretty unoriginal, but i knew that making it and i did it for the giggles. So I'm poking fun at how both my sources are unoriginal here but i dont care XD

you know what also was nice, a terminator trailer with some anime about a cyborg or whatever that beta was a while back
Taite wrote:What an interesting take having Kadaj be the main character. But I think it worked out great.
I frickin' loved the scene selection. Out of all of the Inception trailers... man, Idk. This might just be my favorite. The lipsync was iffy sometimes, but considering the source it's understandable. Though very good considering the source as well.
Really good job. I enjoyed this a lot. 5/5
At first, it was just going to have cloud be the main character, but then i laid like two clips on the timeline and was like OMG KADAJ! and so it happened.

While I normally really dont care what people have to say against FFVII videos for being FFVII videos, when i came up with the idea to have Kadaj as the protagonist, I was hoping that it would set this FFVII video apart from the others as you dont really see videos centered around kadaj at all unless they're those alternate storyline pairing videos that just have people standing around or something after they've been masked out.

More original than that :awesome:
EvaFan wrote:Watched cause I liked the first one...

I hate to compare the two but since you titled it as such I couldn't help think about it while watching this one... First one was alot better in most aspects IMHO. Didn't hate it but didn't really enjoy it much. Could just be because I'm tired of the source but I really think the first one was overall more enjoyable cause it was more creative/better edited, atleast to me.

3/5
I guess i should've expected this to be compared to the first one when i slapped on the same title XD
As I said earlier in this post, the 'Advent Crisis' title is something i'm using to poke fun at my use of unoriginal sources. What's more unoriginal than a sequel? Either way, i doubt that would make you change your feelings about the two and it shouldnt. I feel like both trailer audio called for different things, but at the same time, i did approach the editing and concept differently for each.

For the original Advent Crisis, it was a fun two day quick project and I think the editing reflects that. The video has quite a bit of energy throughout it and it's a fun video. The audio is also a little pumped up with had me call for more action sequences. Generally speaking, in the video, I looked for what synced best in my two sources for those specific moments. From a technical perspective, there are many flaws: overuse of crossfades, character switches, video quality, etc. Nonetheless, I think it's still a fun video. The trailer audio in itself is fun. It's very reflective of how the success of the first Matrix made the approach that was taken in advertising the second more casual. It's like, you loved the first Matrix movie and we're back with a second one with all the characters you know and more the action that you love. The editing is the same way. There are no introductions to any of the characters. You know the characters from FFVII. Just watch them do their thing and continue to play their roles in the epic battles.

As for Advent Crisis II: Inception, the audio is a lot more calm and is more concerned with introducing the concept of the movie because this is a whole new story and we need to draw people into the story. It's all about dreams. So introductions were needed to both the characters and concept. There's more linearity in this video in comparison to Advent Crisis. Heck, there's little to no linearity in the first Advent Crisis. That being said, my main focus in this was to show Kadaj as the protagonist and setup the conflict between him and Cloud, as Kadaj invaded his dreams.

Glad you both enjoyed it.
-MD wrote:Not bad. The editing was enjoyable, but it felt like something was missing from the video throughout. This is my first inception vid.....haven't even seen the movie. XD
WATCH THE MOVIE. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU.
diegao94 wrote:I didn't like it from 1:33 to the end. The rest is fantastic.
I've had a few people complain to me about the end. Maybe I was a little too stubborn with keeping it the way I did. I think it works. I wanted to introduce more things with the sword fights and such, but it could've been used to reinforce images we already saw now that i look back on it.
Copycat_Revolver wrote:I'm already pretty sick of Inception trailers, and I'm most certainly sick of Advent Children videos, but this was pretty damn good. Nicely arranged. I must reluctantly approve.
That's what I do :awesome:

pink haze wrote:At first I was like... Oh noes, another Advent Crisis I can't watch yet because I still haven't finished Crisis Core! ;A;
/reads anime list days later. =O

(Though I did break down and watch the first one eventually, and luffed it.) Will get back to this soon~~

~edit~ Solid work! This part I loled: "It's only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange." Motorcycle attacks helicopter.
lol yea, I was debating calling it Advent Crisis because there was no Crisis Core footage in it, but for reason stated in above comments, I ran with it again. Dont see how that part was humorous D= At least I didnt intend it to come off that way. Still, I'm happy to see that you enjoyed it and if you got a kick a out of that then I'm happy you did. I guess Motocycles attacking helicopters is strange XD

I usually don't like trailers, but this one was awesome! I love FF, and your editing was very beautiful.
