If it's action, the very notion of using Godzilla films is too stupid to take seriously. 1/5 (obviously you don't get this niche part of the sci-fi world and judging from your reviews you only rate things highly if you or someone else you're a fan of made the video)
How in the world is that even a valid judgment of my opinion, when this entire contest is judged BLIND?
Also considering you rated my video poorly as well, his argument doesn't have any grounds to begin with.
You should remember, that those ratings mean NOTHING ... its just a score of how much one liked the amv if you don't understand the comments they made. Those scores totally don't count for the real judgement ... there is no awa metascore. I personaly prefer not to make ratings but write my opinion down since ratings always get misinterpreted.

I love it when people quote people quoting other people. I don't remember who it was, but somebody had a Martin Luther King Jr quoting Thomas Jefferson quote in their sig. Good schtick.

blind to some, semi-blind to others. 'beta' testing vids affects blindness, the quote - i've watched so many vids i recognize editors styles - affects it as well, because there doesn't exist a true unbiased opinion so even if you have a guess at who made something it will inherently in some way affect the judgment of it.
Also, in the first review post you did (sky) only like 2 vids were given higher than 2's and one was too happy sounding tone of the review compared to the others (believed it may have been review of personal vid) and the other had a clear i'm 99% sure this is so n so's video (which screams favoritism)
Without those extra remarks i wouldn't have commented that way and just considered you to be a person not into that niche of sci-fi (because i know not everyone enjoys giant monster movies)

Also, i'm glad you agree that #35 doesn't belong in Best Overall

Before this contest, I had seen all or part of two of the videos, neither of which I ended up rating higher than 2.5/5. I guessed at maybe three other videos, including the one I made a comment about, and only that video received a 'high' rating, not because of who I think edited it (who, by the way, does not have a perfect record in terms of my liking her videos), but because I thought it was a good video. I can guarantee you that my suspicions about who made what videos did not enter into my judgments on said videos, and the videos I liked most, I don't know for certain who made them, and in most cases I don't even have a guess.

The blind peer judging is the reason I enjoy entering the Pro contest. I enjoy reading other peoples' critiques of my video, without having to worry about them just saying whatever they do because I'm the editor. Likewise, I enjoy getting to say what I think about other peoples' videos without having to worry about my opinion perhaps being skewed because I see what I want to see based on what I know about that editor from past videos (which I admit happens occasionally).

If you dislike my opinion of your video, you're entitled to, but don't claim my opinion is what it is because I'm not a 'fan' of your videos on the .org, because to me THAT screams "whiny".

As long as you got a varioty of responses to your vid your doing fine. if everyone univerally praises you probubly have a hit (at least with editors) and if everyone pans it even then you might win. I do find it interesting that vid which get judged poorly can do well at cons. I think riders vid that won at AX is a good example.

Well, if forecasting success is the way to go, if I win I need someone to take my place by standing up, yelling 'WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE', then going on a curse filled rant until you're kicked out of the con.
