Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

As someone who has worked extensively with Macross, I know you could have had considerably better quality, assuming all of the blurriness wasn't due to Youtube. Always glad to see a Macross vid, but this one needs tighter sync, and a more distinct concept. I felt you were going for epic, but I didn't actually feel the epicness.

Also if you say you have an awesome Macross epic, you better be ready to deliver, because the competition for that title is quite fierce. Current winner:

the video was taken from the first dvd release, the quality of which is admittedly low. But that is what I had on hand. It also accidentally ended up at 15fps at the end of the day, which I've since fixed.
Kionon, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by requiring a tighter sync, if you could give a time index example.
Also, I did not make this with any competition in mind. Like my plethora of other stupid youtube videos, they were made for my own entertainment and if other people like them, then thats cool too.

May I recommend the AE remasters? Good stuff there.

Also, downloadable version please?

I could give very detailed time index examples, but you say...

...which I take to mean that improvement isn't your priority. That's fine. Nothing wrong with making stuff for your own enjoyment, but I'm not going to give you detailed feedback if you don't genuinely want it and are not willing to use it in the future.

Be happy to give you that feedback if you do and you are, of course.

I can appreciate it for what it is. Like you say in the info, you liked the source, you wanted to make an AMV, that's great! You don't have to make the "best in its genre" for your video to be considered of worth. And really, there are soooo many AMVs and best is subjective, bla bla bla. Personally, I thought you did a good job with the mood of the video. It felt a bit slow, but that also kept my focus more on what was happening in the scenes.

To follow Ileia, maybe it I should have been clearer that I too liked the direction of the video. I saw where you were going, and I wanted you to get there, even if I don't think you managed to do so. I definitely want to see an improved version of the video.
