Otakon 2010 Drama Finalist - A Journey Through the Pages

I have finnaly released my Otakon amv on the org. I made this in June for the Otakon AMV contest. I made the finals for the drama category. I was proud enough just seeing my amv shown infront of someone peeps. A bit was rushed, but I plan to do a remastered version. See the amv info for more details. Comments appreciated.

Yup, I remember seeing this at Otakon. It was a nicely done AMV, one of my personal favorites of the category.

A little bit of scene-recycling and too much fades to black are the biggest problems. But the sync is very good, and the imagery / scenes used are poignant and moving. Very nicely done.

It was very well edited and the music/video combo is just right. The only "flaw" I see is that there are so many nice EF vids out there this one doesn't really stand out as much as it could.

I hope you will announce the remastered version.

I actually disagree with Cross/fade. I thought it was fairly unique for EF videos.

It was about time somebody did this song LITERALLY. Nice.

Editing wise, it was kind of weak at times [black flickers and some long scenery here and there]. Was there audio cuts? If so, they were surprisingly well done.

But still, without any exaggeration here, it's probably my second favorite EF video. Well done MCHY, well done. It just needs a little more focus and/or tightening, and it'd be fabulous. Looking forward to the remaster.

I agree with Code. I've never watched ef. Of all the ef vids, this one helped give me the story the most.

Enjoyed this quite a bit. Some of the quick flash syncs felt off, could just be me though. Wish you had played more into your diary idea/concept, whether it be with FX/masks/photoshop etc... Poster had me thinking it was gonna be like that. Deadline may have held you back from getting too creative.

Regardless though you've improved a hell of alot 4/5

IN MY OPINION, if you`re trying to show some deep story or concept whatever (i mean if its not dance or random action and shit) usually i want the editing to be less obvious , like not sync`ing to beats or using obtrusive effects
iunno man,just sayin.
