  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

My Videos from All Six Rounds of Project Neo Editor

Post by Ileia » Thu Aug 12, 2010 3:04 am

(Project Neo Editor is a competition in which editors are given a few days to edit a video, judges take a day or two to decide scores, and editors are eliminated based on who scored the lowest in that round. The contest thread is here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 5&t=100392 and there is another round going on to test out ideas for the next installment: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 5&t=101106 This last round is open to all.)

Round 1: Tell a Moral -Winner!-
Create a video that uses storytelling to convey a moral.

Image

Round 2: Dedicated to ______ -Winner!-
Create a "Dedicated to" video for another participant in Project Editor, randomly paired, appealing to that creator's likes and dislikes. Unfortunately, I chose to use a non-anime source, so the video is only available on Youtube.

Video: Dedicated to Angelyco Youtube link
Category: Fun, Dance
Source: The Aristocats
Song: The Safety Dance
Artist: Glee

Round 3: Smiles and Tears -Winner!-
Create a video that displays your ability to transition through a range of emotions.

Image

Round 4: Meme -Loser- :(
Create a video using one or more existing memes and reinvent the meme(s).

Image

Round 5: Your Last Day -Winner!-
Create a video explaining what you would do on your last day on Earth, if you knew you were going to die.

Image

Round 6: Know Thy Enemy -Winner!-
Various factors in AMV-making process are your enemy, (judges, audience, time) you must show them what you can do with this final video.

This was a pretty fun competition to edit for, I didn't know what Project Editor was until this time around and I hadn't heard good things. There were a lot of drops that made me sad, and at least one elimination that I didn't agree with, but it was mostly good times.

Rah Hey is still my favorite, with Aristocats a close second. I was very happy to see the One Man Show vid. Love it! Glad you posted these!

One Man Show is my favorite. Remembering what the theme was for that round, that video was utterly perfect with its transitions. And the last transition was the best.
I had a lot of fun watching them all, however. It's so easy to see what the themes were just by watching your videos.

Obviously the year is far from over, but with these videos + Cyrus Virus, can anybody really argue Editor of the Year at this point? Seriously kid, you're too awesome.

And for my money, I'd say Leave A Smile is my favorite. It just has a ridiculous amount of heart. I love it.

She's deserved it for years, but judging by the trend in recent years, some unknown editor (a foreigner) who's not really involved in the community is probably gonna make one video and sweep all the awards like usual.

Hopefully that will change since Iliea's heavily involved in the community.
