Heart Warming - Clannad AMV

Everyone is overreacting. Video wasn't that great but the vast majority of reactions were exaggerated. The video had something fresh on a conceptual level. It's just that execution lacked thus demeaning the actual concept. Just try working on the execution a little more next time, so people take the concept more serious.

This. And if I may advice you - if you have an idea which you want to get rid of as fast as possible - just skip it. It's not worth it if you aren't going to dedicate your time to it...

I shall learn from this mistake, i promise.

LOL...ok this thread has made me laugh soo hard I want to thank all the editor who made that possible. I thought it was a funny video because of how badly edited it was...I mean at 1st I thought he was taking pointers from Godix. Hell yea submit this to AWA pro...Ive seen worse dumped into that in the last 5 years. Yes the org has a bunch of elite jerks on it....DEAL WITH IT. But seriously that was a funny vid in all the wrong way. oh I have you a 2/5 to help boost up your score hope that helps ya.

I'm not the type to give crit on a AMV due to the fact that if anyone on the org seen MY AMVs on YT, they'd probably throw me in a pit for the rest of my life.
I liked the AMV. Sure, the guns weren't perfect. And sure, the blood didn't look natural. I still liked it. I liked the story you set up in the AMV. And Clannad is something nobody would probably use for a sad/angry/slightly violent AMV. So it was a new thing for me. 8"D

I'll probably get shot for this, but this wasn't as bad as the first 4 pages alluded to it. Conceptually, it tried something new and actually used scenery in a rather creative manner to make something new out of Clannad.

I will, say, however, things needs improving upon [obviously].

What it did Wrong -

1) Blood effect. I think this has been already stated pretty well. It looked out of place. Honestly, I think without it would have made it much better. I know that blood was something that you probably wanted to stand out and represent the anger of the MC, but it was distracting to me personally. Even if it was perfectly done, I'd still say it. XD But you know, you really can get across murder in a different manner than a gun pointing and a blood spatter. Adding a "BANG" with a white flash could give the same result.
2) Font/Typography/Grammar : One thing I really couldn't get over. You know.. I could forgive the bad gun effect and the bad blood effect, but to me, the all caps and font really bothered me. It was also really oversized. Text in AMV's should be subtle and not the central point, assisting in the telling of the story, not being the story itself.

4) Watermarks [Cropping them off really doesn't change the quality/standard of the video at all]
5) Scribbled out thing at the start

What It did Right:

1) Conceptually new.
2) Pretty good masking, or at least I thought. Not perfect, but definitely passable.
3) The scene selection was actually pretty good. Not only that, but the editing wasn't half bad either. It was really the effects that took away from the overall enjoyment.

I'm really not going to leave this a score. Personally, I think this could be remade into something remarkable with a little more effort and time. As is, however, it's an interesting concept, pretty decent editing that just needs some effects shears and a little work on the font/typography/grammar.

[Also: I recommend sending the video for testing to at least 5/6 different people with different tastes. This way, you get that many different opinions and can combine them together to accomplish what you really want]

lol its not that i think people with different tastes are trolls its when people bash on me for making something that i assume they are flaming me. I dont hate on your music taste, so dont hate on mine kinda thing, you know? Anyways, ill try that with my next video and maybe i can get better reviews.
