1: I just felt that I wanted to give back to the community and make something myself.
2: Summer of 2002, when I got my first capture card. (Before I had a DVD Drive)
3: I'll answer this cuz' I wasn't always an editor. I just kind of enjoyed the idea. I used to browse websites that would have these Sailor Moon music videos hosted on them and I like them. Then while browsing Morpheus for Anime I could download I came across a few Jesmaster and SSG videos. I think one of the first ones I downloaded was titled something like, 'Ranma Hentai' and was put to 'I Must Increase my Bust!' I loved the videos I downloaded so I started searching for more using other key words. I then ran across vids by AbsoluteDestiny, DokiDoki, AtomX, Vlad, and a lot more. I didn't find out about this site until a guy at College in 2003 told me about this website where he could download amvs.

1.When I saw one of those AMV's that were basically 'one scene to a song' (I used to think those were so awesome, but not after digging deeper into AMV making.)
2.Started half a year ago.

I had just discovered AMV Hell, and went to their website to tell them how awesome they were...and on their website, it said they were taking submissions for AMV Hell 4, and it would be the LAST AMV Hell. I knew I had to be a part of it.

I hadn't used iMovie yet for anything but splicing together clips of my cat (my camera only does 15-second clips) but I put together four AMV Hell submissions and two got in. After that, I expanded a clip I had decided not to submit into my first full-length AMV, and joined up with AMV Blitz.

1. Was working in Television at the time, saw a DBZ video on a friend's computer and basically thought it sucked. Thought I could do better. Played around with an Utena vid in Ulead MediaStudio. Got bored, and stopped for maybe a year or more or so. Got a copy of Premiere 6.5, imported the Utena clips I had captured/ripped and finished the video.

2. That was ten years ago.

1. Saw a Tenchi Muyo vid by "Fly High Studios" called "Don't Speak" that I had downloaded off of bigmog.com (which is now a blog site) That was back in 1998 or 1999.

2. It wouldn't be until 2001 that I was able to obtain a vid capture card to rip footage from my DVDs of Evangelion from my PS2 (yeah, n00b) to created my first catastrophe

1: I was randomly looking for anime on Youtube and found some AMVs I thought were awesome and wanted to try making one myself.

2: When did you start making amvs?
December 2006.

First time?

Damn, if I remember correctly it was at me old job. We were working overtime and just to waste time we were watching Teh Tube. Eventually we came across "Engel" and for about oh a week or so, I could not figure out how someone could possibly pull off a lip sync to a song with an anime. It defies logic!!!

What got me into this madness?

AX 2008.

I went to the AMV 101 panel and it got teh gears turning. When I actually went to the contest, as we were being seated, "Go the Distance" was being played and that sparked the fire. About 20-30 minutes later I watched "Be A Man" and that pretty much sent me in a frenzy and i've been creating videos ever since. So im still quite teh noobie boobie.

Boobs.
