Re: Videos that never happened
I've had a few concepts I've given up on after starting:
An Inuyasha movies/Engel combo I tinkered with in late 2004. I can't remember if I tried finishing it at a later point, as probably 70-80% of the timeline was done, but tying up all the loose ends and tightening stuff up was murder. It did, however, go a long way in terms of actually honing my internal syncing skills. One of these days I might release it, or maybe even finish it.
Ranma ½ to the Seether/Amy Lee duet version of "Broken". It stalled a good year and a half or so before the Wind-Up incident with hardly anything actually done with it, but that sort of drove the last nail into the coffin.
A remake of the Stabbing Westward/AMG! video I'd already done, once I had learned how to use Premiere. It didn't get very far before sputtering out either.
There is also a Clannad video I've not worked on in about a year, but that's more because I finally got sick of my computer's speed issues and probably won't pick it up again until I get a new setup (as well as actually watch the two seasons of Clannad; I did see the movie, and the Kyou special, the latter of which the video was meant to focus on, but there's too much deviation from the movie to the TV series to really predict what footage I'd need...and well, considering the recent release of Clannad on Blu-ray, I might hold out for using that footage instead).
I also have a lot of short videos I've yet to collect up and release, since I still have a few more ideas that were on the drawing board for it. It was meant to purge the rest of AMV Hell out of my system, but time itself kind of did that. Some of the shorts date back to 2006.
I do have a file dedicated to combo ideas, but not even all of those ideas will get made, even if I thought I could or would do them at some point. There are a few I am more determined to do from that list, though.

Re: Videos that never happened
I started and scrapped a One Piece video to Dido's White Flag mostly because I was completely shocked nobody had done it before. I didn't have quality source and had no way to get it at the time.
I've also had an epic vision of doing a complete remake of Polysics' I My Me Mine with blender-rendered versions of Lucky Star characters. I had no skill with model designing though, so that never left big dream phase.

Re: Videos that never happened
...thinking...
kingdom hearts + fix you. i had a whole concept planned out, probably the first concept i premeditated for a video (however obvious it was). It was going to be about sora's life and whatnot, and namine fixing him. I think i had the idea over a year ago and edited maybe 10-20 seconds of it, but quit in favor of a different video. i still wanna do it sometime, but idk.
i've also had ideas for every single song on third eye blind's self-titled album, and sadly i've only done about 4 of them so far
but i'll make it to the others i hope.

Re: Videos that never happened
I think the only video I've actually given up on is editing the entire Wicked soundtrack with a different anime for each song. As much as I like the ideas I had for them, it feels too 2005 to me. I've also surrendered the concept I was originally going to make for AWA Pro 2006: Angelic Layer to Duran Duran's Electric Barbarella.
Any other ideas that made it past the title stage still have a chance of existing, however slim it might be.

Re: Videos that never happened
I wanted to make an action video of FMA to a power pop song. I watched the entire series over again and wrote down specific times during each episode where there was an action scene. I encoded all of the episodes to lossless, organized all of my scripts and notes, opened the timeline, and BAM -- no idea what to do for the first 10 seconds of the song. I placed a few clips to see if anything would fit and they didn't. Gave up and spared myself a few weeks of grief. I don't really regret it, but I am curious as to what the AMV would've looked like if I did end up grinding through the timeline.

From Donator's:
Title: Monday
Source: Touch
Song: Monday Morning by Simon and Milo
Started work: Sometime in 2007, probably.
Status: Scrapped.
Betas? No.
Info: I scrapped this largely because the footage is so old, and the DVDs of it are encoded so badly that I just wasn't having any luck cleaning up the source.
Title: Strawberries
Source: Ichigo Mashimaro
Song: When I Grow Up by Garbage
Started work: Feb 3, 2008.
Status: Probably scrapped.
Betas? No.
Info: I still think this song/video combination has a lot of potential, but I think all of my previous work is pretty much useless.
I still haven't released:
Everything else I've ever laid down timeline for is technically still on the table, I suppose...
