When the same scenes are used many times in the same sense, to look at these scenes even in other sense all the same boringly. Theme cannot be "overused".Ileia wrote:Ah, then a more accurate way to describe what you mean is an "overused theme" rather than an overused source.

- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

Your own examples that you gave were themes. I'm only basing it on what you yourself said.

You can understand as you want. It does not change an essence. Vid on overused sources will always have the underestimated estimation.Ileia wrote:Your own examples that you gave were themes. I'm only basing it on what you yourself said.

Re: [DP]Sullen
When the essence of the source material is about a particular theme, it makes sense that the majority of videos are going to follow that lead. If the source is about war, it's only logical that the editor is going to put his/her spin on that theme rather than making a romance or comedy out of it. This doesn't make the editor lazy in any way; the source was created to evoke feelings pertaining to the subject (war) so it's most likely to elicit a similar response.
I think you've got your expectations too high.

But the viewer has the right to be dissatisfied with that video does not contain anything new.
If the author wishes to be pleasant to the spectator, he should find not often used source or to change a source using effects / new application of scenes / alternative history.

Gaurry, originality doesn't necessarily mean "perfection".
It's just your preference, and that's just fine, but don't try to make others agree with what you might define as "better".
I've seen your video muse, and tbh I didn't like it all that much, it is original, but it's just not my cup of tea.
I've seen some RAW videos that are a lot better in comparison to some original work out there. They might not be original, but are well edit, and entertaining to watch.
AMV aren't judged on how original, or how many effects are thrown at it, but rather how well the editor has used the anime, and song together and created something that is entertaining to watch.
