Okay usually I never complain about the quality because I don't give two shits about it half the time but what the fuck? 1280x720, 10Mb, .wmv? 'Nuff said, please learn encoding and in the future you won't be bothered by simple but pesky comments about it. It's really not hard either.

As for the editing I absolutely hated the whole text deal. Reading through the post I didn't think the text would be THAT bad, but it was worse than I thought. I actually like a little text, or typography here and there but that was ridiculous. It certainly helped me understand the story that you were trying to get across to us but I don't think most of us needed that much text.

As for the black squiggly what the fucks going on in the video I just don't know. To be honest I don't even think you needed them they just looked..bad lol. I try not being blunt or an asshole but they were. And those blood splatters, just no. They didn't look realistic in the first place, and I know you don't care if they're perfect or not but at least try if not harder next time. And if you can't accomplish doing that well then work around it, find another way, anything so you can make it look better whilst getting the point across still. Also the gun mask=shitty. Yeah. I know, you know, we all know.

I actually gave this a 2/5 because I literally felt BAD for you even though you bitched and moaned about a little critique because I know you put effort into it, but next time when attempting an AMV such as this that requires blood splattering, people holding guns, masking and junk, I think you'll need to try harder next time.

Well this was certainly different in the history of Clannad AMVs. XD
I liked the concept. C: I kind of laughed when he pointed the gun at Fuko though (just because of all people, Fuko, y'know.. xD)

Ok, lets see here, where to begin...


First of all, lets address the obvious. There was NO reason for this to be in 720p given the source used. Macroblocking, fuzziness, washed-out colors, and RELEASE GROUP WATERMARKS IN THE CORNER. I hate to echo other posters, but I was honestly expecting hardsubs. Given all that, 640x360 would have been MORE than adequate.

Second, the font choice. Uninspired and serves only to distract from the source material. While on the subject, the whole "Text Over Clannad" thing has been done before, and better (see: ).

Third, the masking seemed rushed, jarring, and completely out of place. It's not that the gun didn't look realistic, it's that it barely even resembled a gun since it appears to have been upsampled from a thumbnail.

Finally, a 31 second ending? Really? On a video that's all of 1:42 to begin with? That means roughly 30% of your video is a static frame with music that has no relation to anything you've done. Ergo, the total sum of your effort is 1:11 worth of video. That's a Hasteroth move right there. Short videos CAN work, but given all the above flaws, it would seem you weren't even trying.

Hell, sucked. I admit that freely. But I KNOW that it sucked, and I KNOW it was a half-hearted effort at best.

And to finish up with my own $0.02 (USD), get the stick out of your ass. You know full well that this site is full of elitists, perfectionists, and just plain assholes. That being said, there are MANY people here who give valuable feedback and constructive criticism. The only way feedback can help you improve is if they're NOT kissing your ass. If you take it personally and fly into a rage every time that happens, you're only making yourself look like a spoiled child who just found out not everyone thinks they're a special snowflake. My personal philosophy is if someone points out something they don't like, it's an opportunity to figure out WHY they didn't like it, and improve. If they DON'T say anything about a particular part, I just assume they liked it.

If you can't handle criticism and just want ass-kissing, put it on Boochsack. If you want honest opinions that help you improve, stop rageposting and let people help you.
