2: When did you start making amvs?

1: I knew what anime was.. But other then robotech/transformers, I had really never watched it. My sister shows me this music video, it sucked (she thought it was great). I thought, I can do soo much better (being I was in Jr/HS A/V class, but nothing outside that). I owned no anime at the time, so I picked up InuYasha VOL1 DVD. Well, my first one was better then the one I had seen, but still had a large magnitude of SUCKAGE.
Is it fateful or fateless... I now own more then 200 anime DVDs and 24 Bluray titles, I have always gone by the creed 'if its good enough to use, its good enough to own'. Some things, many actually are good enough to own with out using them. I quickly fell in love with the stories in anime.

I'd been conjuring up scenes timed to music even before I thought I could actually edit. It was usually images I put together from some video game I was playing at the time (Starcraft and the sort) and whatever orchestral music I had on me then. So when I saw Jesmaster's videos and a couple of Final Fantasy X videos, back at the start of the of the millenium, it didn't take much coaxing to tinker with Windows Movie Maker and magic was unleashed into the world.

Summer of 1999

I got my first real pentium
Got it from Dell this time
clicked 'til my fingers bled
was summer of '99

Music and some D-B-Z
didn't try to synch too hard
Goku used a kamehameha
When the chord was hit on the guitar

Oh when I look back now
That scene would just last forever
And was havin' fun
and i'd always make them better
These were the best days of my life

1. Catching the AMV contest at a-north I thought to myself (while watching doki's video) this is making people laugh and enjoy themselves. This is something I'd like to do! This is something I can do!

3: If you dont make amvs, what got you into watching them?
I didn't usually watch amvs, only when people would link stuff in the IRC. Then I went to a con, that changed a lot of things. Fun times.

First AMV I ever saw was some random Kenshin vid set to Stabbing Westward, then Hsien's Kyoto Kombat, and others followed suit. The idea of creating something digitally artistic while combining my love for anime in the form of a tribute was awesome. Still is.

In 2001, using downloaded episodes and other AMVs

I've had little 10 yearolds tell me I'm too old to use a computer let alone be online

well yee typical 13 yr olds would be born in 1997 so anybody under 15 would be game here's something that will make you feel OLD. Chiikaboom and Kitsuner were 13 (or less) when they started 4 or so years ago. They're hardly out of high school (diapers) today! Lol There are other young 'prodigys' around too lol. It's sad to think, pretty soon here we'll meet ppl who have NEVER known an America under Bill Clinton!!
