Okay, where to start...

Bad AR (780x480? Come on...)
Lacking sync
Lipflap
Uncompressed audio
Bad quality
Borders in-video
Overused dancing scenes

Overally it could've been a good video, but not like this. Try harder next time, please - 1/5

wow......... ididn't think it was THAT bad...

as for teh 780x480 - that got reccommended to me to use when mixing full screen and widescreen video - which is why i did it -
lipflap - well not really alot but whatever
lacking sync? - by lip/lyrical or both?
Overused Dancing - well of course - i only chose 3 dances - which 1 of them being the longest it did get overused.. not too mention the dances are already overused in various other amv's but i tried to cut back with using haruhi and luckystar - so i cut lucky start out completely and used 1 whole course with just Haruhi...

Well i'm sorry you didn't enjoy it

as for "borders" in the video... i have no idea what that means.....

anyways even if you hate it...Thanks for watching anway....

Make two more of these videos, and call the last one Crazy Loopin the Third.

In such case you choose either 16:9 OR 4:3 and alter the other sources to it ;x

Both, which is really sad in dance vid D:

Cutting back using THE most chosen ones doesn't really help :nono:

The black bars over and under widescreen sources.

... i don't know how to do that XD

oh well XD i'm not a pro like you and i know next to nothing about all the specifications that all you pro know about and judge on - but i could always read teh tutorial stuff but even getting free time to work on my videos as it is - isn't very easy - but i will try to read those eventually

Nya-chan Production wrote:Cutting back using THE most chosen ones doesn't really help :nono:
well i was actually l thinking of not even including Haruhi Except for the "Crazy" part ... but then i just got too into it XD - if you know of any other "dances that arn't as popular or just lesser used, please let me know - that would be awesome- as i my self do overuse haruhi and lucky star - but this is the first time i've ever used the Rosario vampire dance in any of my videos....

Nya-chan Production wrote:The black bars over and under widescreen sources.
if that was caused by the 780x480 the ok but otherwise i don't know how to do that either - at least no purposly

well i guess being as pro as you are - watching an amature like me must be hurtful to your eyes.

Really you should be using avisynth scripts and virtualdubmod to cut borders/clean up with filters/compress your footage into lagarith or huffyuvs. Read the guide here.

But here's a nice short way that slackers use ;) Cause sometimes I'm too lazy to do all that for a short video :x

You use Sony Vegas right? Now if you go to the pan/crop menu on your clip and see the dropdown menu near the top where it says preset: untitled? Just underneath the clip title? Select 16:9 --> that makes the clip widescreen. Although this only works if you render in widescreen. You gotta do this for EVERY clip.Alternatively you can just right click the clip(in pan/crop menu with the big F) and select "Match Output Aspect" then just render in widescreen and you gotta do this for EVERY clip too.

Btw I wouldn't recommend this method unless it's just a small project cause it does cut part of the footage off in 720x480 clips :\ If you want to do 720x480 then use 4:3 instead of 16:9 although for me I prefer widescreen cause it looks nicer when you squash 4:3 to 16:9 than from 16:9 to 4:3 ^^

Haven't watched the video yet so will comment about it later.

Edit: Have to say I agree with what Nya said. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't that great a watch either.

Main problem was the lack of sync which is a big :nono: for dance videos. Whole point in dance videos is that they're supposed to be upbeat and this just didn't quite cut it. When the song picks up, you need to use scenes with impact, leave the static lip-synch ones for the verses - another thing you need to work on :\ really did not like the bit around 0:46 when they're standing still and talking, urgh.

The technical part you can easily fix by reading the guide I linked above ^

My score would be 2/5. 1 point for effort and 1 for using Rosario + Vampire cause I like the colourful dance scenes they have 8D

well at least you attmpeted to help me as opposed to just bashing the hell out of it like Nya-Chan.....

i'm not sure what it is with this site - but being its more full of pro editors - they look more for faults and nitpicking at anything possible instead of just trying to enjoy the video itself..........This seems to the the only place outta all the places i put my videos that they get bashed thoughrly (sure that's spelt wrong)

but all i care is if people enjoy enjoy videos and if all this ****** place does is bash them, I really don't see the point in uploading my videos here anymore - i did upload them cause the site suggests that they like to keep record of all AMV's created - but if all the pros have time for is bashing instead of helping.

(i've tried to read some of the guides - they spend more time confusing you on what not to do, then to actually helping you on what to actually do - maybe i just chose to read the wrong ones)

sure not all my videos are good - i've had a couple decent ones on this site even according to comments but when it comes to opinions 95% of them just nit pick at it instead of just watching the video for what it is.

i might try uploading one more video to this site (whenever i get my next idea) and if thats all the comes out of it is more useless bashing then i won't bother coming here anymore to upload videos.

not sure how many other you people have scared away with your constint bashing - but i enjoy my videos - and so do many others (i might a little Contructive critisism on what could have worked better here or timing could have been slightly better here - hell i'll even noticed stuff in a video i released that after going through a series again how 1 single scene could have been better at a certain spot as opposed to waht was inserted at the time - but i don't bash myself or just rip down the video and re-upload it to change a single scene.

anyways, i'm just sick of just getting my video bashed to shit here when anywhere else at least it gets enjoyed with out the nit-picking at every f***ing detail.

well thats my "most likely to be ingnored rant" for here

I make Videos for fun in my spare time when i can - this place just takes the fun out of it - if you can't enjoy it for fun factor alone.....then maybe you others shouldn't be making videos either....

Most people post in these forums to actually improve their techniques and get that constructive criticism - we don't post here to get additional views, I think (at least I don't). I could have watched 5s, delete it and be done with it. But I sat through it and wrote down everything that (in my opinion) could have been improved to make it a good video enjoyable by most - I might have been wrong, I don't claim to be all-knowing. In fact, I even replied to some of your questions in a calm manner.
All of this considering the last few days I have been pretty busy - in fact I considered sending you the guide, but I just didn't have the minute needed to find it, already watching the vid was pushing it.

Honestly sorry if I offended you, but I strive to be the best in anything I do (which includes what I do for fun, you might even call me perfectionist) and so I tend to have high demands on others - once again sorry for that :<

Again - nobody bashed you in this thread and if I sounded like that I apologize and will try harder the next time.

way to get defensive and ignore valid criticism :|
[although it's understandable when it looks like you put some work into this amv]

Everything nya mentioned was a valid concern, mostly because they are all distractions-- and nobody likes distractions in an amv. Think about it: if the viewer has to force themselves to overlook 'all of the above' in order to focus on the meat of your video, you are doing something wrong. Now consider who you are making your amv for: Yourself or the Viewer. You can't deny that you are making it for the Viewer [at least partially] or you wouldn't upload your videos anywhere. Still think all of this is a load of bullshit? Then you are just fooling yourself. Please take the time to consider concerns that are raised whenever your amv's are reviewed. Even if you think they are just nitpicks, they are still points you can improve upon, and there is no arguing that point. Always look for the truth in criticism, regardless of who says or how they say it. Plus, once you have got the technical stuff down, it can make the editing process smoother.

The amv did have it's moments like at 0:17, 0:30, 1:12, 1:52, 2:30, [and some others] which are the important moments in the amv, and shows that you are at least doing something right-- but the rest of the video felt like 'filler' and didn't flow with the music as much as it could have. It would need much more sync to follow the flow of the music, so this amv fell short in that regard. However the atmosphere and lyrics felt right, but relied way too heavily on those two things to really make this work. My best advice for this[and really any dance/upbeat amv] is to make it more 'Visually Musical.' That's all that can really be said without pointing out specific parts of the song... and I certainly don't expect you to re-edit anything. Just get a better sense of the ebb and flow of any song, and it should become obvious. If you want an example, take a look at ScorpionP's 'Feel the Mambo.'

Just as a side note: I'm worried that you have some sort of barrier that separates pro editors from amateurs editors, when in reality all 'pro' editors were amateur at one point.
The main distinction IMO is experience involving change.
