Re: Owned by Youtube
A couple of years ago I had one of my videos on YouTube go mute because the music company objected. The video was still there, just silent, so I just let it sit.
Now the audio is back and with an interstitial ad that pops up to let you order the song.
I guess someone is learning they can use videos to promote the music...

Re: Owned by Youtube
....xD Audio... xD
Youtube is fail like for that stuff... though recently I had a video with a 'Head Automatica' song... I pasted the random disclaimer thing in it and it worked... As in disputing the claim meant I could keep the audio. (Though writing in a random thing does not work.) When you first dispute you keep the audio until they reply but I got to keep the audio fully which was fun timez. xD Though since it was Kimi Ni Todoke I had to remove it because I don't want strikes on my account and lately YT has been deleting a lot of KnT videos. xD

I still think it's silly. It's like Doujinshi in Japan... AMVs create buzz and interest among fans. They should be grateful for the publicity =P Can't say how many times I've gotten interested in a new anime series or a musical artist I'd never heard because of an AMV.

But youtube is a company trying to be a "Online TV channel" or something like that...StarMasayume wrote:I still think it's silly. It's like Doujinshi in Japan... Re: Owned by Youtube
I don't get why anime company's would want them removed, AMV's only show bits of the story and create a big interest in the anime. There's quite a number of animes i've watched based purely on AMV's i saw...audio i can understand though since it doesn't benefit record company's in any way since there's VEVO etc now.Chiiisus wrote:....xD Audio... xD

Laws...copyrights...and youtube is very popular so that's why they dislike amvs..AceD wrote:I don't get why anime company's would want them removed, AMV's only show bits of the story and create a big interest in the anime. Re: Owned by Youtube
I keep considering making a youtube account for my work but this is why I don't too much hastle to just have things pulled. That and I don't want to cause the studios to go googling my sn, winding up here and causing hell on this site. not that it's that hard to find this place nor that youtube isn't a bigger target but rather I think the mroe under the radar we stay the better.

this is a fine example of why us pirates can't have nice things. Sure the ninjas dress in black and are keen observers, but generally they are way too convinced by their own hunger for power that pirates are not detracting from their goals of world domination. The Wired Knight wrote:I keep considering making a youtube account for my work but this is why I don't too much hastle to just have things pulled. By Pirates I mean copyright infringers and by ninjas I mean the government, in case you're a little slow.
