Hey guys, you know what would be cool? let's bandwagon up and shitpost elcalvero's new thread without saying anything really helpful, that'll make us really cool and stuff.
-----------------------------

I thought some of the effects were kinda gaudy and would have helped if they were more subtle. The lightning, for example, I definitely think you could do without. I think you have the potential to be an editor who makes enjoyable videos, but I almost think you should kinda go back and reanalyze yer basics... Like, scene selection is important you know? and you seem to kind of throw that to the wayside in a lot of your work and rely on Effects to relay all of your message, and that's fine.. I guess, but I would like to see some thoughtful stuff from you fer sure.

Probably one of your better works

My biggest beef was that the pacing of the video didnt really match the song. Look into acknowledging the song changes and matching the mood.

I didnt like this, i think it didnt give justice to a wonderfull song!
Muse is probably one of my favorit bands...

I would say you missed out on the flow, the flow was really iffy and loads of your hardcuts were just way to abrubt and those threw the flow off several times.
The fx work didn't work out either, fellt like some cheasy way to use sony vegas effects from 2003.

Ergo proxy is such a perfect anime to work with hue/saturation, color correction, darknes, light etc.
To bad you didn't :/

I'd say 2/5, you lose a star for not finishing the song, two stars for not making it anything but average. Although my videos all deserve a 1/5
And for those of you that are bashing this video, it's not bad at all. It left me wanting more, and he should have kept editing. This would be great beta material, go in the irc and start betaing this sort of stuff so you can perfect things.
If you guys want something to bash, write a couple ops for this vid

I really made most of my videos as trolls, and only a couple I took semi-seriously. I have alt-accounts that I put some effort into, but I've never really been obsessed with AMVs, once I get a PC I'll show all of you how much I've learned by actually watching american movies to see what people in America and other english or european styled countries think something should look like, instead of looking at bleach episodes to figure out how to make a good amv. I'm talking about things like the batman movies, district 9, and sherlock holmes.

Sorry, you didnt like it Zenkia, Ive noticed that you've been following my amvs throughout.., I'll try not to disappoint you next time (nextamv). ;P
Vivaldi wrote:Wasn't bad, but nothing jumped out at me. Literally, after I turned it off I couldn't really say or remember anything about it. It wasn't good, it wasn't bad, it just was.

Edit: Of course, really left an impression on me as to how this song should be edited, so that may be a part of it.
It wasn't meant to be a earth shattering or spectacular amv, its just a regular amv made by me.? I think your expectations of my videos are either too high or too low.

My plan for my future amvs will be non-effect amvs. or a least a huge reduction of effects.

Justice to this song has already been made, or did you not see Vivaldi's comment.
Justice can not be done twice or can it?
Also I could care less about giving justice to any song. I simply like the song, edit with it, and be done ...

This isnt surprising coming from you, however, once again, I will ignore your rant. WHy? Well you simply point out what you hate about the video, you dont
specify exactly where the bad "abrupt" hardcuts are made in the video nor do you recommend anything to fix it. Do you think I should just stop using hardcuts altogether or ?.
How can I make my flow better
If you (Neverend) respond, I might reconsider (not ignoring your rants?).
Neverend wrote: The fx work didn't work out either, fellt like some cheasy way to use sony vegas effects from 2003.
The only noticeable fx work on here is the lightning and a background, and it comes straight from AE, not vegas. Everything else was from Vegas (overlays, brightness, and such)
and if thats what your talking about ... , you, Neverend are guilty of this yourself, same exact effects. (Overlays).... ....... ( Everything else)......

Do you disagree?

I wont argue whether or not the effects are cheesy or whatever, however, if you (Neverend) say they are cheesy and you used them yourself, then (fill in blank)

Mr.Neverend, are you suggesting that I should add more effects? Everyone else has told me to stay away from effects and focus more on other areas. Would you mind explaining how more effects are beneficial?

The video was just ehh for me. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it's just in the middle for me. I have to agree with Atari on the pacing of the video to the song. Things didn't seem to flow too well IMO. The scene selection could have been better as well because like NS said it seemed to rely more on the effects then the scenes.
