Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Thanks - I actually found people didn't notice some of the smaller bits like the masking of the TV around 1:44 to 1:48. Getting the proper lighting on that was a bitch.
This was the first video I downloaded from the contest this year. You definitely accomplished what you were aiming for and it's fully deserving of the awards you got! I didn't notice a few of the masks you had made until I watched it a few times. That is a great thing. They look like they are part of the anime. That is a really hard thing to accomplish! And like PurplePoleCat said, I notice more little things snuck in there the more I watch it.

My favorite bit is 1:55-2:06. Amazing! 5/5 stars. :)

Well it undoubtedly looked good and sounded good :)

The 5.1 was interesting. I'm not sure if I can say it's better than the stereo since my surround setup is pretty basic, but it's a unique experience to hear sounds from different directions in an AMV
Stereo w/ Headphones may almost be better since it feels more balanced IMO.

I'm not really sure what to make of the video itself. There was some neat stuff going on, and it kept my attention the whole way through [no pun intended  ] It just seemed like it didn't have a solid purpose without reading the description. I think you succeeded in what you were trying to do, yet much of the sync I thought was too subtle to capture those type of feelings brought about by the music.

So I have mixed thoughts on this one, but definitely a worthy attempt at progressive editing
You don't see much of that these days.

FOR EVERYONE ELSE: Really crank up the volume! Blue Man Group put's a lot of subtle sounds into the music you may not notice otherwise!

Thanks for such a long thought out response. I couldn't really tell how the 5.1 was here at home (I lack a 5.1 set-up) but hearing it in the past in 5.1 was what sold me on making the video in the first place, so I wanted to offer it as an option. I actually put each channel in Premiere, and isolated segments as I edited in a few segments.
