Problem previewing?
For some reason I'm having problems the the AMV preview feature. It goes to the page but with no video... weird thing is it worked before. I double checked and downloaded the player and such. I don't know what else is different or what to try. I was so happy when I realized this feature was implemented and really want it to work again. Is it a fluke that it's not working for me now?

If you recenetly installaed a new antivirus or internet security software, you might have to add the org to the program's white list or something. I'm not sure what else could it be since you said you already installed all the required software anyway.

Re: Problem previewing?
Thanks for responding. I have at least AVG and Spybot on my computer, but I don't think they've interfered with video viewing before. Not even sure where a white list for sites would be.
I think it does say that I don't have the jw player or something, but I've clicked on the linked to download and reboot my computer and it says it installs correctly with a little animation. =/ Is there anything else besides that player I might need to redownload? The page shows up as if I didn't have the player working. I don't know if the problem is really how I've installed the player or some other element. I'm pretty sure Java is enabled.... flash and video work all right on any other sites I've been around to.
It works on my computer at work but I don't have sound here T_T

Re: Problem previewing?
Try installing the CCCP. Videos are encoded in x264+aac so perhaps you don't have the right codecs?

Okay I can try. Does that only effect browser viewing? I have no problem viewing any downloaded amvs.

Hmmm, if you can see x264 mp4 downloads fine it shouldn't be in that... But it can never harm to try, honestly.

Re: Problem previewing?
Well, if you are using VLC for playback, then it's using some internal codecs for playback, which means your pc doesn't actually have the codecs, so your browser can't playback the file.

Re: Problem previewing?
It must be a shockwave flash problem, since from what I know, machine's codecs or players doesn't concern at all (I believe Flash must have its own codecs to playback). I would see if you have changed your browser, updated it (firefox updates itself from time to time), and try reinstalling shockwave player (here or either search for Flash player as well). Check if you can see videos at youtube, and if you're allowing javascript. Other than that, it would be strange.

Re: Problem previewing?
I tried installing the codec pack again (I think I had some time back with all the amv software pack). And I am definite that I WAS able to watch them before... I even have "last watched" on a few AMVs I viewed on preview before. Videos on all other sites like youtube, netflix, or wherever seem to show fine. Does that help narrow down what might be wrong?
When I'm home I'll double check and see if reinstalling shockwave player helps and double check browser updates. I would think that if it was a java problem that I would have problems elsewhere but I don't as far as I've seen.

Re: Problem previewing?
Not really, it makes it more confusing, ha. But try updating flash on your browser (firefox, for example, integrates it to the browser and is easier). Worst scenario, you can try another browser. Although I think it can be some corrupt file of flash. It happened to me once (but with youtube instead).StarMasayume wrote:Videos on all other sites like youtube, netflix, or wherever seem to show fine. Does that help narrow down what might be wrong?
