It's been quite a few months since I last composed an AMV, but that's not to say that I've been idle in the interim - I've been investing my effort in creating clips for the AMV Minis series and the upcoming AMV Hell 5, and if you're a follower of them you'll have seen some of y work under the name "Robert Frazer".
Sora No Woto, or Sound of the Skies as it'll be called when it (hopefully) gets licensed, was a very affecting anime and one of the most consistently enjoyable that I've seen in recent years. Sumptuous art, a delectable soundtrack, a decently different setting which broke out of the "K-ON! at war" mould which some people unfairly tarred the show as, a positive Aladdin's cave of references for detail-hunters, and a well-posed balance between fluff and crunch in the exchange between daily incidents and a gradually-unfolding plot. This AMV has been created first and foremost as a positive celebration of the show - and I'm pleased to say that it's the very first AMV on this site to do so.
The AMV is made in a light-hearted and gently humorous spirit. The theme of Sora No Woto, while not necessarily pacifistic, nonetheless sees the outbreak of new fighting as a failure to avoid - however, I've made it fit into a jingoistic hymn to the thrill of war, death, and glory! It's an odd juxtaposition (perhaps best expressed in the first thirty seconds - in the anime, the character is declaring peace, but here she's calling up fresh soldiers!) which should raise a chuckle from enthusiasts of the show, while not alienating those who are new to it, who can just enjoy the quick flow of action and boldness on its own merits.
Sora No Woto was the first entry in the "Anime no Chikara" ("Strength of Anime") project of designing original stories instead of merely adapting mangas, and it was a superb vindication of the concept. I earnestly pray that the show is a critical and commercial success, and if this AMV gets a few more people interested in it, then it'll have done well.
Please enjoy! Comments and criticism alike are always considered and warmly appreciated.

Yeah, you've certainly got me bang to rights on all of the technical flaws, particularly the interlacing/aspect ratio issues. Unfortunately, the "now back to work, slacker!" caption in the credits was more than just a bit of self-deprecatory humour - I do have a lot of things coming up and there was really only a finite amount of time I could dedicate to this and while I suppose I could have put it on hold for a few weeks until I had an opportunity to polish it up, but as this AMV is directed in part towards fans of Sora no Woto I felt that I had to put it out before the buzz from the show faded and people moved on, lessening its effect. In most readers' eyes all of that probably translates to "making excuses for a rush-job", but I am being honest... I know that it's a pretty unprofessional atittude to upload something which I'm conscious of being imperfect, but I felt that something was better tha nothing, and that the content itself would be enjoyable enough.
Thanks for watching, post-it, your time and interest's appreciated.

Re: Sora No Woto AMV - "High Morale"
.. Hey, let me know when you've corrected everything ( including the Audio ) cause its a good AMV otherwise ^__^
one note: when the trooper is flying over the Giant's Bones, you might have to do that sequence frame by frame
instead of just playing it backwards .. "I tryed that one myself" and it turned-out the same as yours.
T_T .. its a good day to die ... your choice of songs has a sense-of-humor
