That was pretty good for a second vid. Solid syncwork :)

The song got a little monotonous for me, but I guess that can't be helped.
I'm not too sure what you did with the aspect ratio. It looks like you stretched the original 720x480 to 854x480, then cropped off the sides to make it 720x480 1:1, but I don't see why. You could have just left it at the original 720x480 and raised the 16:9 flag so it would stretch to 854x480 during playback. Click the vid in my signature to see what I'm talking about.

Overall, fine job sir
You've got a good grasp of sync, so try a more dynamic song, and I hope to see more from you.

I like all the subtle changes that was made from the beta I saw a while back. :D

Visually speaking, I thought it was fine, but I'm not all that sure on the AR of the video, but I trust Phanty on this one.

The flow and atmosphere were spot on. The song [during lyrical areas] was greatly fitting in terms of scene selection and the sync during the instrumental bits were spot on, creating a really great feeling during the whole video. Let me put it to you this way. I hate Garden of Sinners AMV's, because they all follow the same formula of creepdom. However, the editing was so great in this one, that I was entertained the entire way through. I think because while it did go the creep route in some area, it moved into that "epic" feeling you feel when you watch chipmunks fight with lightsabers with the awesome Star Wars Orchestra behind them. Plus, I was happy to see a more wide variety of scenes used. Most GOS videos use the same 4 minutes of footage, but you branched out on that, so I'll be forever grateful for that. :D

I think I already touched on most of the points I wanted to make, I'd just like to say that this was some of the best use of digital effects I've seen in the last few years. IT was INTEGRAL to the video, it added to the story and value and concept and wasn't there just for show. In fact, it looked extremely natural to the show.

If I had any complaints, I'd still point out the lip flappage. There was only 2 instances, so I'm really just nitpicking by this point, but on the whole, it was an enjoyable and fun AMV to watch. It was new for the source, had a very epic feel to it, and probably 1 of 2 GOS videos that I will actually ever keep.

Holy crap. Your like an amv detective! Ok this is what I did, I put the project settings in Premiere to 16:9 because my footage is 16:9 Anamorphic Widescreen but when I was all done and exported and compressed in Zarx264gui , the places I zoomed in at or moved around had different aspect ratios. So I panicked and opened a new project with the settings at 4:3 this time and imported the previous project then exported it from there and this was the end result. The places I scaled or whatever didn't change like previously so I thought it worked out. Guess I was wrong. Do you think this would of been avoided if I just stick with 4:3 square pixels? Thanks for the feedback by the way.

And Code, you never cease to brighten my day with your kind comments!

one of these days I should finish the AR tutorial I started... although there are probably a bunch out there already.

This might help you understand that 720x480 can be both 4:3 and 16:9
Image
where:
AR
=Width/Height
=720/540=1.33333=4:3
or
=854/480≈1.77777=16:9

It depends how you prepare your footage, but considering your footage is 16:9 it probably would not work, unless you added borders like this:

otherwise you would get this:

but personally I try to avoid cropping.

Anyways, the take-home message is that it is easier to get your footage in an appropriate resolution beforehand, otherwise objects that may seem correct at first will get warped when the aspect ratio is taken into account later.
