Hey guys! This is my first ever posting of two of my AMVs. I'd appreciate any feedback and I will start working on some more. Its fun to be a part of the community. Thanks in advance!

That was not really good in my eyes. the scenes were to long, so it was more one long part where i only see the same fight. Also i dont think the music fits to the video. Synch was also not the best, i dont know it look many times, that the cut were on the wrong place. On some beats of the song i would like to see some cuts. The story was nothing special, a normal, boring(in my eyes), Naruto video.

I apologize that my first amv was such a let down for you. Could you show me another example that is more entertaining? Also please take into consideration that I was unable to do any of the video in After Effects. I am working on getting that fixed though.

Yeah, After Effects magically solves every problem. :?

Don't fall into the delusion that using After Effects will automatically make a video good or that a good video can't be made without using After Effects.

In fact, more terrible videos are being made in After Effects each day.

I must give you major props for the effort and title (love that title, the O brother one.) Keep on practicing. You definitely don't need After Effects to execute a good amv. Perhaps read/watch guides on Premiere to explore more in-depth stuff about your program. Also, read this guide if you haven't already. It will give you a lot of tips on how to improve visual quality, as well as how to export your amv under different formats. Keep it up. (:

EDIT: More criticism for your O Brother video:
What I think went wrong was that it just wasn't original. It just seemed like the scenes placed were in chronological order with a few flashes and cuts here and there to match the beat of the song. :00-:09 was good. It could probably use a little 'spice', but it was synced well to the song.
*At :51, you can notice two black bars on the side of the screen, meaning you have a weird aspect ratio. Read that guide I suggested to you, and you will learn how to remove those bars to maintain the right aspect ratio. It looks really messy if you leave it otherwise.
*Sometimes scenes were a tad too long. The mood wasn't really set because of it (also because the scenes were just sometimes random and didn't fit the lyrics of the song. However, I did see some lyrical sync in there.)
*1:03 - 1:18 was really good. With a little bit of 'something' (that 'something' you'll be able to figure out yourself with more practice) you could have had it perfect. However, I saw you repeated the scene of the mother at 1:04 and 1:10. I'd recommend finding a different scene that fits, because scene repeats aren't pretty, and are sometimes a sign of laziness. The part where Itachi is widening his sharigan-activated eyes was done once too much. That kind of scene repeat is different than the mother one. At 1:19, you could have done something with those drum beats. It was just a slow clip that allllmost looked like the lightning flashes were being synced to the drum beats, but it was too subtle to tell.
*After 1:19, you really need to pick up the pace. You need to do something that will add more impact to the video, because it was just too bland, and that part of the song was really upbeat.
*And what's sad is that the rest of the video, up until 2:29, is basically just the two fighting. Nothing is really going on. 2:29-2:35 was well done, though, in my opinion. I'll let you figure out why on your own.
*And then after that, the fight scene again, with nothing else happening. The Sasuke lip sync was really unnecessary and completely sets an entirely different atmosphere. You can't picture Sasuke saying those words, so it just looks forced and awkward.
Then the fight scene again.
*That last effect at 3:35 was unnecessary. You just look like you're trying to cram in all of the good clips you can by overlaying and adding effects. It wasn't very pretty to look at.

Those good parts I mentioned, plus the fact that the song actually did match the brothers was really good. It was just it was a tad messy, and although the song matched them, the clips didn't match the song. All of this is my opinion on what you could try and work on, but I do strongly suggest looking at that guide I linked you to (and I mean, really read all of it, it's veeeeery helpful) and also looking for other guides on your program, because you can do really great things with it.
But, for one of your first amvs, it was VERY good.

Wow, just wow... Thank you. I will take a look at that guide but I must thank you for taking time to quote times and errors I need to fix. I understand that compared to some of the greats I am still an amateur but I really want to harness my creativity and develop talent. I am happy that there are people like you who are patient enough to break down a video and tell me in ways as an editor I can understand. Thanks for the props, off to read the guide now!

I haven't downloaded a naruto.wmv in forever, but this worked out pretty good :)

The quality doesn't bother me because I just wanted to see a montage/summary of that whole arc-- and this delivered it.

At times the music and editing didn't seem to have the same pace, so that's something you may want to work on... but you seem to put a lot of thought into your scene selection, and it shows
