Tetris Dance Remix
well this one took a while to do - mostly due to the beginning with attempt to have the scene change on the beat - it worked for the most part but nowhere near perfect - the majority is dancing with a bit of lipsyncing at a few various spots - but nothing major.
but again - as long as people enjoy it and care less about minor....and or major faults and simply can enjoy the video for what it is - thats all i care about
Enjoy

Re: Tetris Dance Remix
You know, I've been stalking your work for a while since Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, because I saw a lot of potential in your work.
Your single ladies vid kind of hurt me, but this one slightly makes up for it. The 3D chibi dancers really worked well with the audio, but the attempts at lip sync and the ranma scenes [and the weirdly synced intro] kind of killed the flow and atmosphere of the video.

Oh... while thanks for following me... yeah i attempted to kinda sync the intro to the beat with no real meaning behind it...but i thought it would be slighlty cooler to attmept that then to try and have a person attempt to lip sync that part.....Code wrote:You know, I've been stalking your work for a while since Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, because I saw a lot of potential in your work.

I know Nothing per effects wise but if you have any suggestions on how to improve with bare basics or what you liked about girls just wanna have fun that you'd like to see more of i'd be happy to listen.
as for my single ladies one i could see why that one maynot have been as good being the lip syncing was terrible but i've also lost any transitions and internal effects i used to beable to use since switching to a new computer - so i will have to re-download those and try and re-install them......not that i really used them much anyway.
but if you want me to stick more to the general all dance vids as opposed to attmpting to lip sync parts....(which i tend to do a little bit in every video) then let me know... cause i'd like to do stuff people might actually enjoy....as opposed to just me.
also if you have a suggestion on a song in the general mood/beat you'd like to see then be sure to pass it my way and i'll see what i can come up with for a good connection...
and requests are welcome too (i've only ever had 2...and i've only got around to compleating one...but if its a song that sounds good it usually flys to the front of the pack of the videos i've at least attempted at starting.
again i thanks you for at least seeing potential in me and hope not to lose you over a few mediocre videos

peace

Re: Tetris Dance Remix
That was fun! Timing was there and it quite much answered the expectations of dance anf fun video. Choice of anime comes obvious in this case...
I disliked only a slight attempts at lip-sync, didn;t fit. And thmatically i would make more hints or connections to tetris. Oh well... Nothing serious.
Good job!
One question: did you make this 3D yourself?

Re: Tetris Dance Remix
The video would be ten times better if you never attempted lipsync at all in it. Lipsync is boring and stops the flow dead in it's tracks. It's just someone standing there speaking. If I wanted that I'd watch Obama speeches. It also got rather boring seeing the same scenes repeatedly in the video. At least you found a different Haruhi dance scene to use than almost everyone else puts in their vid. The few spots you tried lyric sync (the boob shot especially) didn't work well, again it killed the flow and since you didn't do much lyric sync it actually took me a moment to even see what you were trying to do. Overall it kept enough upbeat feel to it that I liked it anyway, but it could have been a *LOT* better if you focused more on the mood/flow.
Also, it would be nice if you go AR, deinterlacing, and decimating right. Read the guides. But I can overlook tech stuff since that's really the least important part of AMVs for me.

Yeah the lip syncing is probably one of my faults that i put in almost every one of my videos at some point in the songAikiNick102 wrote:That was fun! Timing was there and it quite much answered the expectations of dance anf fun video. Choice of anime comes obvious in this case...

Re: Tetris Dance Remix
Alright (i really should look at the guides at the guides at some point) and the only lyric syn i really did was kinda at the beginiing wgere the song actaully starts up and at a few times during the song like the "shake your ass", "move your hands" - and yeah i guess i coulds done without the lip syncing, but too me the video looked good....but i'm not exactly an amazing amv editior...so i think all my videos are at least decent in my own mind.......godix wrote:The video would be ten times better if you never attempted lipsync at all in it. but i do find this place to be the most critical of anywhere that i actually put up my amv's, being from what i've read here in general - that this site is to just catalogue any and all amv's ever made... good or bad... yet even if contructive critisisim this is the only place that nit picks at every little detail - while anywhere does just enjoy the video for what they are - sure my videos arn't perfect in anyway but as long as they get enjoyed is all that really matters to me - i lack in pretty much every area aside from teh basic - splitting of the scenes and placing them side by side - not that effects are really needed buy some people seem to think thats all that really matters....... being i guess them not being good prevents you from winning any of the annual awards.....but at least don't have to have every video go through a pnal of judges to get accepted like some music sites, and stuff which is awesome.
only other place that will actually critique a clip if submitted for such - is the amvhell series - which i have yet to have a clip accepted into weather its funny or not...yet see so much crappy unfunny stuff get accepted that you just wonder if the admin lost his scense of humour somewhere

cause here - some say the video concept was good - but was poorly executed - is the most frequent critique i get - but to me - again as long as some people can enjoy it - i really don't care what others nit pick about it - but as contructive critisism - it can only help me get better so i'm not objecting to it - just wondering why some of it, is so harse - not that these particular comments were, but just a thought.
anyway thats my ramble for the day.
peace

Re: Tetris Dance Remix
I'm really dissapointed. I thought that you would make some progress after The Game At The Video Game Store, but I think it got worse.

Dear god. Tell me why my own video can't be worth it, that I look somewhere up how to fix this ugly issue.
-AR chaos
There were letter boxes and wrong AR. Eh... could you decide on something? Maybe the RIGHT AR for every source?
-Lipsync
If you can't make it right, leave it out. The video would have been the same without it. Just toss away this problem if you don't plan on doing it right. It didn't made a lot of sense for me because the lyrics sync was so random.
-Ninja lyric sync all of a sudden
Either you make more lyric sync or leave it out. Or at least don't force it like that into your video when it destroys so much.
-Flow
It didn't felt good when watching it. I just were not able to enjoy it. Something in the pace or flow just bugged me and sadly I can't give you any advice or suggestion. I don't know what's wrong here for me
-FX
Hey it was okay. I really didn't felt any needs for effects here. Maybe some brigthness adjustment for some scenes to match better together. I thought some scenes were pretty dark. No FX is better than cheesy or crappy effects.

Re: Tetris Dance Remix
I'm actually surprised to watch an AMV with this song. Like others said, the cuts at the start were way too synced and being the scenes so different one from the other, it distracted way too much and didn't look well. I've made the same mistake in some on my videos, and I learned that it's better to sacrifice sync in sake of general flaw of the video.
Honestly, there's pratically no way to make out a lyric sync out of this IMO. It's hard, and if possible, would only be random at best, because that's the point of the song itself. Lip sync, if attempted, didn't look good.
Anyway, only part of the video that I really was like "this could be way better" was the beggining. When there are so many beats in so little time, it's better to take only one of them (like, 1 out of every 10 beats) and try to sync them instead.

well i havent read a single guide on how to edit things reall y- let along anything on interlacing or deinterlacing ...i just tried but it seemd to be rather confusing jumping from one to the other and back again with the different techincics and how some of them are bad...so i don't even see why their bothered to be mentioned if not reccomended. as for FX i didn't actually use anything at all anything flashy or bright was the video itself. the only "effect" i used was the near the very end with cutting out a second of the pciture and having it come back to the beat.. i have no tech experiance at all with anything really - and even though i've done around 30 vids in the span of a year - it's something like "girl at the video game store" that i did in the span of about a day cause i was intriged the second i heard the song. others i've done cause i either liked the song.. or saw a few other vids of the same song, liked the song, and decided to make my own stab at it to see what my finished project would turn out like.
there are only a few songs that really inspire me to work on a video when i hear them - or i want to do a video but look for a more modern or up beat verision that fewer people have used (hence my girls jjust wanna have fun" video as i seen soo many with the cindy lauper version that i did the Miley Cyrus version.
but a video my brother requested i do i thik is turning out fairly well, but i guess i'll let you guys decided and let me know waht you think on that one whens it's completed......but i guess i'll hold back macking random stuff untill i hear a song that really inspires me and hopefully get back into the "ok" category as opposed the the "complete crap" category i seem to be in lately.
Peace
