AnimeLand Wasabi AMV Contest 2010(Feb. 28th deadline)

Post by neorose » Mon Jan 11, 2010 8:33 pm

Well This will be the 2nd official AMV contest for Wasabi. http://animelandwasabi.ning.com/

Well Im in for a second year with the AnimeLand Wasabi AMV contest and I am here to talk about what is to come and what will be different from last year. 1st off I want to say I am sorry to all that won at our contest and did not get anything mailed to them as far as awards are concerned. As far as last year is concerned with the person that was to make all the awards for the winners dropped the Ball and we were unable to have them made. For this year we are still talking to peps on what the award will be but it will likely be just a printed award, also you would need to come to the con to pick it up(this is also up for change in the near future we may just send them all out).

Da Rulz

1. Anyone can enter the contest there is no age requirement for the contest. All Videos need to have been made after January 1st 2009.

2. There is no limit to how many entries you can enter but only one of your videos can win.

3. There is no block on content for your submission, keep in mind that if your video is seen as 18+ by the staff it will not be shown at the main showing of the contest and will only be shown during the late night AMV block. Also keep in mind that live action and video game videos are welcome.

4. Submissions can be mailed in(see Contact info at end) or submitted by Free upload sites. I will have a main account set up on http://www.megaupload.com . If you wish to submit to the main site or by any other free site you need to send an e-mail the the address in the contact info 1st. In the e-mail you must include the following.

E-mail:
Your Name:
Your Editor Name:
Your Video's Name:

If you submit to the main free site account that we will have set up you need to have your File name listed with both your Editor name and your video's name for example: neorose - memories_of_the_past.

If you are submitting more than one video you need to say how many and the names of all the videos you are submitting. If you are submitting by mail we accept CD's, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, and if you feel like submitting a BD yes we can read Blu-Ray discs but I dont see why anyone would send in a 20$ BD for a submission. When burning your entry, please do not make it a playable DVD or VCD – just a simple data disc is all that will be required. With your mailed submission plz keep in mind that you WILL NOT get your disks back so do not send your master copy. Also you need to include all the same info as if you had digitally submitted your video, Name, Editor Name, Video Name, and How Many( if more than one then Have All The Names).

5. File formats. We would like all submissions encoded as MPEG-2 as all will be shown by means of DVD in Main Events. We do take other file formats. Other file formats include AVI, WMA, DIVX, and MP4. We will convert all submissions to MPEG-2 anyways.

MPEG-2 Profile:
Resolution: 720 x 480, hard-letterboxed if using widescreen footage
Framerate: 29.97fps
Audio: MP2 at 48khz, stereo audio only, 224 kbps or higher, no variable audio bit rates
Video: 8000 kbit/s max, progressive
note: please do not send in authored DVD video files, just send the MPEG2 computer file.

Non-MPEG-2 Profile:
Resolution: 640x480 minimum
Framerate: 23.976 / 24 fps or 29.97 / 30 fps
Audio: any suitable audio format per your container files at a suitably high (192 kbps or higher) bitrate.

6. Submission Deadline. The Deadline for all submissions is Feburary 21st 2010. This deadline is for both Mailed in and Digital Internet Submissions. If you need an extension on that date you must first e-mail Us before that date asking for an extension and list the reason why. Plz note that just cause you ask for one does not mean you will get one.

7. CONTACT INFO. If you have any questions about the rulz plz mail me at the contact info:

Good News to everyone that cares. We will have custom art made printed awards for all the winners this year. I have yet to hammer out if we will be mailing them all out yet but it is looking positive at this point. Once again I would love to see a great turn out of org. members AMV's to help out a new and growing Anime con here in Colorado.

I'm in. And again - it's not 'Duet'. It's another NC-17. Can't attend since I have no money and less time.

I would love to enter my new AMV, but it is only up to 18 seconds so far........

If you need another NC-17, I have one. For show, I don't want to compete with me.
