Video: Fooly Cooly Ocean Avenue (Preview)
Category: Action, Comedy, Romance
Anime: Fooly Cooly (FLCL TV
Song: Ocean Avenue
Artist: Yellowcard
Creator: 009LeoSK

This amv took me a total fourteen hours. This is my first amv but I have experience making videos two years ago when I used to upload Naruto Mangas in youtube. This song suits the anime almost perfectly. I said to myself that Im done making videos but I just couldn't resist. The inspiration just hit me and I just had to do this amv. It was almost a sin for anime lovers to not do it.

That is one of the worst things to say about a video when saying what you thought of it. "I liked the song, but you could have done more with it". who couldn't do more with their videos? there is always something that could be improved, but how about we tell him what those things are? Especially when they're new to the hobby.

:33 - whenever. Ok. This is just a random scene you threw in obviously. and actually a great majority of the video seemed that way. You need to go back and watch some other videos and see what they do, how they synch to Beats and the lyrics.

:27-:28 was synched to the beat. but for most of the video it's just straight scenes with really nothing to grab interest. You need to work on (like I said before) just the basics of Beat synch and lyric synch. Go back, read some stickies and guides in this forum and just watch some videos.

you couldve used much better clips for the lyrics, like ns said, it seemed really random and unfit

yeah but I dont like to over shadow it with special effects, the anime itself suits the the song so why bland it with effects.

because when you've seen the same scene done about 100 times used the same way a little bit of effects magic can help spruce it up a bit (or ruin it completely XD )
/didn't watch video just answer question

I must say I agree with this. 100%
I couldn't really finish watching the whole thing because I've seen those scenes about 100 times, and there weren't really any other elements that truly set it apart from other FLCL videos with similar songs that I've seen.

That would be relatively accurate if the editing was able to carry the video...and in this case it wasn't, at all. You need to actually edit rather than throwing down 1 minute clips and letting them play out. I saw maybe 1 small segment that actually had cuts that you could tell were made intentionally. The rest of the video, which is pretty much all of it, is garbage. Not trying to offend, just telling you how I see it. There are quite a few fantastic FLCL videos out there that you could watch to get ideas on how to edit with the source if that's an issue, and there are literally hundreds of great videos in general that you could watch to learn about sync. Don't use "I DIDN'T WANNA CRAM IT FULL OF EFFECTS" as an excuse if you're not even putting fourth effort to make the editing entertaining to the viewer.

So many important beats were missed because you just slapped down footage haphazardly. So, like I said, watch some videos, study them, maybe read up on and look into some editing theory. This type of shit just doesn't cut it and instead of making excuses, you should work harder and apply yourself more.

@ zerozero9leosk:

listen to the drums (beats) and change the scene or make some sort of effect everytime you hear one. thats how to get ur sync downpact (sorta) and ur video will already look 100 times better.

@arash

i know ur tryin not to offend but at least look at when he joined as a member and kinda evaluate y the video was the way it was based off that (and he said this is his first amv...). dont make urself look like an ass to someone new...bad for ur rep maaaaaaaaan
