Re: Debut
Alright, so i watched it the whole way through and I will say that this video does a lot more than other first videos. You put yourself out there and tried your hand at things that you normally dont see in first videos and you've received a lot of positive feedback. That being said, my opinion of the video is that it felt really amateur, which is to be expected. My main issue with your video is that a lot of people seem to be stuck on the gimmick of seeing naruto characters playing instruments, but I think you were trying to do a lot more than that. It comes off as comedic when I think you were trying to establish a really serious mood. A lot of the effects were generally really cheesy.
You do have a good grasp of sync and making a coherent concept. For this video, I felt like the actual singing, guitar and drum playing distracted from the story you were trying to tell. One of the best examples I can think of that does the whole music video thing:

Good luck on your next video ^^

Re: Debut
It's not simply the fact that the shit was used, it's the fact that it was used horribly and looks terrible. I stated in my post that I realize what I was saying was harsh, but the fact that people are praising this video simply because "LOLSASUKEPLAYSDRUMS" is asinine. Not to mention the video being terrible in general. The guy has potential as an editor, but this first video, as most first videos, was pretty awful.Eva-Fan wrote:I don't really consider being able to enjoy amv's more easily then you a problem, in fact it sounds more like you're the one with the problem. Your comments about overused sources and presets and what not are pretty retarded considering it's his first video (even if it wasn't they still are). The idea of a first video is test run and see what things do and how they work. So what if he used a preset or riot gear? Does that mean you have to instantly hate it just cause it was premade? Even if an experienced editor used it, it does not mean you should just hate it. The whole idea that presets shouldn't be used is just dumb. Seriously get over your elitist attitude already and go back to the days before you became an asshole if they existed. If you didn't enjoy it that's fine, you have your reasons but calling everyone else out on your reasons alone is the epitome of elitism.

Can you like, not be a complete dick? You know, every once and a while?Arashinome wrote:Seriously...this amv is a perfect portrayal of everything that is wrong with AMVs today. First off, 2 INCREDIBLY overused sources, horrible editing, terrible effect composition, fucking riot gear and preset bullshit everywhere, along with terrible masking. As for the video, i checked it out simply because a friend mentioned it in a convo and i got morbidly curious. Im not too fond of either of either of the sources really but i thought it was really creative. Some of the masking was a little rough and the hand movements were awkward at times, but if you can already do that for your first video I think you can come up with some pretty neat stuff.
3/5 wont be watching it again cause, again, I dont care for the sources used, but if you end up editing with anything I like ill definitely be keeping an eye out for new videos by you

r u mad? or are you just envy? Just let the people enjoy something they like as much as they want. It's not hurting you or something. I would be happy for the editor for getting so much praise and attention for a first vid.
Yeah the effects are partwise cheesy (heck which first effects video isn't?), but the concept is not bad and I think it's a great first video. I also want a remastered version in a few years.
Irony. Your first post is also a great portrayal about what is wrong in the community today.Seriously...this amv is a perfect portrayal of everything that is wrong with AMVs today.

Re: Debut
Apologies, but I did not much care for this amv as much as others. It's very well done for your first video, but as previous posters said, a lot of the movements look awkward. It was much better than I could do, that's for sure, but it seemed to come out rather forced, the way I saw it. Points for creativity and for making me laugh, though. XD
