If the last SH video was not to your taste, this one might be. At the very least, it is a little less Brechtian than the last SH Mountain Goats video, but hopefully colder and just as alienating, just in a different way. The immediately following ones on the production schedule have at least tentative convention assignations, so this may well be the last one published until the ice melts.

Yeah, to a degree this gives me my usual "if only it weren't Shinkai..." response - which is not something I hold against the video. It fits and matches, and there's at least one visual thing to set it apart. I wish I hadn't seen the rest of it as often as I have. It doesn't really step off very far layout-wise and doesn't do anything conceptually shocking (maybe I should be thankful for that, knowing what you can pull off...)

Genuinely enjoyed it, questions of originality aside. Good out-there song and fitting, basic editing.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
